Well myrecordwashorrible, I have come to the conclusion that with Davis leading the way, we will continue to get the same results for Lamar baseball
We simply need to remember that under his leadership Lamar has not won a conference championship and only has 1 win in conference tournament play
Lamar elected to keep him, so IMO we will see the same results, with close to the same number of wins and losses, with a quick exit if they make it to the conference tournament
You very well may be right. We shall see.

Lamar drops to 1-1 with a 7-1 loss to tournament host South Alabama.

I know you are joking but Sal and whoever else can call for all the coaching changes you want (and might be justified). But let’s all pray Dr. Taylor is here for a long, long time. Easily the best president Lamar has had in a long, long time.
I have met Dr. Taylor a few times and am thoroughly impressed. If there is a President as supportive of programs like him in the SLC I would be shocked.

Highlights?? I need college baseball and they aren't home until March! That's not a highlight, but at least baseball is coming soon. LU fans will enjoy the HCU transfer at 2nd base. He is simply fun to watch play.

Does this set up a must win for EC against Buna next week?

Pretty sure they have been split the past 2 alignments. For sure they were on the last alignment.
They sure were, didnt realize that. Out on the northwest side of the region..as much as people love to hammer the UIL...not sure how they could have avoided it. What district do you move without making that district travel through Cy Fair to their region?

Cf isd has 12 6a schools so uil has no choice but to split them into 2 districts and to top that 16 6a is In region 2 17 6a is in region 3 so it's a possibility that 2 cf isd school could meet at at&t and play for a state championship!!
I was thinking that very thing about the state championship possibility. The splitting of a school district in to separate athletic districts is quite common, but not sure I have ever seen separate regions.
Nightmare scenario for UIL, highly improbable though....2 fairly new 6A schools with no alumni base to speak of meeting in Arlington with both having quite a distance to travel. This scenario keeps happening and the nightmare could become a reality.

If I'm reading things correctly, the Cypress Fairbanks schools are split in different regions. If so, how common is that? They are in District 16 and 17.

No more guys masquerading as a woman in a bikini? Whatever will we do?

Finebaum sounds like he could cry discussing this on the SEC Network. Several people he has spoke with almost sound like they are discussing his passing. It's really interesting to see and hear.

You have not heard of “tryouts for baseball”? It is never “one kid”, once they know they can be in athletics instead of PE they will keep coming.
If you truly have been places where kids are willing to go through off season workouts without playing a sport instead of taking a PE class, you have come across some darn tough kids. Unless, you have been at a place or places with such limited coaching staffs there was no real off season except in the Spring. Now, if that's the case I can see kids pulling that stunt and understand your concern.

Allowing all kids into athletics just because they want to or sign up for it is a huge mistake. There are numerous reasons for removing kids from an athletics class. Including but not limited to: A senior finished with sports, a student/athlete that doesn't play anything, behavior reasons, academic reasons, and probably many more.
Make it public which schools just allow any kid into athletics that want to be.. because I'm sure there are other coaches that would like to schedule them.
Fully understand your position and actually agree. My gripe is not allowing students in the athletic period because the student doesn't play football and/or basketball.
Discipline problems, grade problems, quitting in the past, etc....heck no...you aren't in the program young man.
-
Coached at 3 schools. 5A had a athletics period for football only and other period for other sports so it didn't arise. Other 2 were a 3A that allowed all in, but we only had about 12-15 non-football in the period and only 1 did not play any l sports and the other was the 3A I mentioned.
The one kid, freshman, which I dont think surprises you, was not allowed in athletic period the next year.
Have you seen a situation with that many kids in an athletic period that didn't play a sport?
-
As a former coach, I actually do that very thing. Again, we will disagree about the elimination of kids from athletic class periods.

Not sure why the air quotes. It's what I do. Not being confrontational are a smart butt. I work in a teacher certification program as a college educator. Kinesiology to be more specific.

Thank you for liking my sarcasm.

My resume is not the concern. The elitist attitude of leaving kids out of programs is wrong. The school I will not point out. Plus, according to you "many" don't allow it, so why point out the one?
Several allow all athletes in are successful across the board doing so. So, there is another way.
For the most part it's the anti baseball AD. It forces kids into football if they wish to lift and get fit during the school hours.
We will simply disagree as you will not change my mind nor I yours.
