    Technically You are correct lol

but I don’t think that’s the way coach Barbay is looking at their performance. Dawgs got a good team though, #34 is a beast, and #4 is quick and can pack a punch on defense, 74 and 73 are huge. Good luck this year!

  2. Rocky start to the year but that’s normal for silsbee. Seems like coach smith has his hands full with some mental mistakes being made tonight and poor tackling.

but, one thing I’ve learned from following silsbee football for the past few years is don’t bet against coach smith. He’s proven himself for sure the last two years.

It does seem as if the tigers are missing that one or two superstar player that they usually have that could go off at any time. I’m sure as time goes on one will emerge though.

It was nice to finally get to see some football; or at least half a game!

Just a reminder, this mask rule that is in the UIL guideline is due to Governor Abbott's executive order.  First event of failure is a warning, second is a $250 fine per subsequent offense.  If I were a mayor in a town that one of these games were being played in, I would have the police chief have the department out IN FORCE at one of these games.  A REAL good way to make up for some budget shortfalls.

That’s a good way to lose your position as mayor lol

  4. I don’t come over here to the basketball thread too often, but I’m quite surprised to see our town making excuses for us getting whooped by Silsbee. Ain’t no excuse in the book acceptable except the fact that Silsbee is just way better. I thought that was common knowledge.
Refs? Dirty play? Come on man! We could pay the refs off and pay Silsbee to play a loose zone defense and still get beat...

    1. Crosby - Brings back all starters at the offensive skill positions. Lost three very key pieces on the defensive side of the ball but if we can improve overall in the secondary I expect this team to be playing in December.

    2. PN-G - Like what they have coming back In the QB. Even with a third place finish they’ll have a good chance to get to the third round with Manvel out of the district. I’m not a huge believer in the potential second round opponents A&M-C/Huntsville after how they were hit by graduation this past year.

    3. Barbers Hill - Lost the bell cow in Kaopua and their first FBS signee who was instrumental in grading the way for him, Casey Collier. Heard that Westeberg has another transfer qb coming in to take over the starting job instead of the kid who was put in at the end of the Manvel game. Not sure of the grade or eligibility status so I guess we’ll see.

    4. Kingwood Park - 4 of their 5 losses last year were by 28+ points so it feels wrong to put them here but they did beat PAM and they have a returning qb. No matter the district KP usually finds a way to back in the playoffs. I like their chances a little more than Nederland’s.

    5. Nederland - I think you’re going to need to score this year in the district and I think Ned will have the worst offense of these top 5 teams. I really like a couple of the skill guys the have returning but I don’t honk it’s enough to keep them from going from 4th to 5th with the addition of KP.

    6. Dayton - First year head coach who I really, really think is the man for Dayton as long as he’s given free range over staff hires. They’re going to ruin someone’s season this year and I hope it isn’t Crosby’s. Watch out if their participation rates jump back to where they were this season during the Stewart era, they might still be in he mix for a playoff spot in late October.

    7. Texas City - Maybe they flip flop with Dayton but I don’t see anything you can point to as a legitimate argument to move them up. They were outscored  313-122 and will be breaking in a new starter at qb. Coach Surovik’s teams have been grinders since he took over but he’s been a little short on talent lately.

    8. Santa Fe - As long as they don’t have another school shooting to galvanize them they’re right back here where you normally find them in the football standings.

Crosby playing in December? Basketball or football?

WOSGrad, you ready to get it started?  Not the opening I was expecting in BISD football but a reliable inside source has told me that Coach Peevey of Beaumont West Brook will be taking his coaching talents to Little Cypress-Mauriceville.

As AD? What about Crouch? I’m confused lol

Those 6 starters coming back where mostly key players besides Martin and Taylor and Cartwright... But ok it is what it is I guess to ow boys question then Silsbee will be nothing next year .

Yeah just Martin and Taylor. Which is about 90% of your offense, and a huge part on defense. Gotta be a realist

My problem is that this thread has had nothing to do with the game for a couple of pages

I haven’t even taken the time to read it, but at a glance I see the Crosby people commenting so that doesn’t surprise me 😂

@L-Train11, can I subtly tell these guys to move on by telling them what the date is? Wanted to make sure it's alright with you first...don't want to make anyone upset...😇

As long as the conversation stays civil then it’s not against the rules to keep talking about a game. It’s also not against the rules for you to tell them to move on, so proceed if you like lol
