How is the Silsbee fan base?? For some reason I'm thinking they travel pretty well?
They do. They will being a good crowd to Katy.

But how could they possibly top last year's game!
Impossible!!

I think that’s a pretty strong limb that you’re standing on!

Really concerned about all the Tiger injuries on defense. Hope it doesn't catch up with us eventually.
Last year Cuero had a kid that won the state title almost all by himself against Pleasant Groove. Hopefully Wimberley doesn't have anyone like that on offense.
He may have defeated PG by himself, but he didn’t really go off against silsbee.

Speaking of qbs and throwing, who was it that threw that bomb to Martin on that trick play?

Ey, I'm just the messenger... And IMO, great sign of respect from a Silsbee great according to most.. And a very respectable young man IMO...
I’ve heard the same about dontre, but i just think he’s a little too young to be making that kind of statement. Now, if he would have said “top 5 in my lifetime” then he may have a valid argument

I just seen on Facebook where ex Silsbee QB Dontre Thomas coined Silbee's current QB Raymond 'CJ' Foster as one of the top 5 Silsbee QBs of all time. One Altime Silsbee great passing the torch to another. Great respect.
I’ve seen 3 silsbee people disagree with this so far on here. People who I’m sure are much older than Dontre. Let’s not get caught up in the hype of the moment. I’ve only been following silsbee fairly closely for about 4 years and I can name 4 that i would put before him. But I’m not saying he isn’t good, so please don’t take it that way either.

I figure he wasn't since it was obvious at a quick glance that 28 pts is NOT 5 Tds...
But 35 points is lol

Are we really referencing a game that took place in week 2 and we are in week 15?
No I think he was talking about last night. The other guy referred to wos defense as “the best in the state”... maybe a few years ago. Not this year

Yeah the did and was wide open. Silsbee hopefully will defend that better and put more pressure on the QB. Dont think WOS qb was sacked once.
I wonder if wimberly qb can run.

Silsbee has improved vs the pass. Hopefully we stay aggressive and put pressure on the QB.
Idk Santa, that curl/hook route last night was open every time. And wos dropped SEVERAL wide open passes.

But you have to be physical with kids like that. They have physical players in the secondary, but no length...but they will have tons of fun trying to find a way to stop Silsbee's playmakers on offense.. very tough cover.. and I don't think they'll have a db that can check Cartwright...
Too bad Taylor is so short. I don’t think he can stop him from catching the ball, but he will for sure bring him down when he does.

Doesn't hurt that Silsbee dropped down a division.
That’s true too. Doesn’t help that Carthage is about to drop down either lol

Yep.
They also have a '6"3 receiver who has 59 receptions for over 1200 yards and 17 TD's
Geez!! If y’all will stick with Taylor, he keeps the chains moving.. keep that big receiver off the field!!

I was sold from the beginning. Everyone just wasnt open to change. McGallian did things his way. Smith does it different. Put it this way. My old saying is results, not excuses. These are the same typical talent and athletes that Silsbee puts out every year. Smith has instantly utilized this and seen the results.
I know why, it’s because some people were used to high flying offense and no defense. Some people would rather win 51-50 than to control the ball and keep defense on the sideline, thus helping the defense play better when on the field.

Me thinks Silsbee will have to score 42 or more to win this one.
Because of their passing attack?

Wimberly lost to Cuero

Strange though. There are still some Coach Smith detractors in Silsbee and I don't understand it...
Soulja it’s the world we live in man. There’s people who wanted Coach T gone last year after winning multiple state titles in a row.
I’ll admit I wasn’t sold on Coach Smith his first couple years. At this point though, it would take a dummy to say he hasn’t earned his respect.

Silsbee can’t seem to win district but owns the region for the last two years.. a problem most teams would love to have!

Silsbee stopped WOS on 3rd down 3 or 4 times and a big 3th down earlier. I see why Coach Thompson punted in the 4th.
Yeah but silsbee had all the momentum and everyone knew when they punted on 4th and inches that they weren’t gonna stop silsbee. I can see why the mustang faithful are aggravated. Of course the fact that the punt got tipped didn’t help either lol

You know what they say, “sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.”
Well, after last night I think silsbee can say “it’s better to be just a little bit lucky, but really good at the same time.”
