Important question: Who cares who applied? The ones asking aren’t from Lumberton and whoever else applied didn’t get the job.

I was curious before the hire was made. Now; it really doesn’t matter. We got our guy, and I can only hope that he’s “our guy” and not using this as a stepping stone. Can’t blame him if he does, but I’d like to see the program continue to progress

Who would you say is qualified to be the HC/AD currently within the program?

Depends on your qualifications. If you want someone with previous experience and winning record then obviously nobody within the program.

But every HC has to start somewhere. And I don’t see us getting many big name applications.

Coach Hopson is the girls athletic director I believe, so I’m sure he has his name in the hat.

They want someone from the old system to keep their Rythm going. Someone who knows how it works and who won't cause too much paperwork for the administration because he wants to bring in his own staff. Going for the easiest transition.

That would make sense especially when you have a HC leave on good terms for personal reasons. Why go through years of restructuring and new coaching staff if you don’t have to

The headline would be more accurate if it said “Team A allegedly calls Team B a name that Team B calls themselves all of the time. Riot ensued.”

Here’s the deal... we all appreciate good trash talk. If there’s a magic word that causes your opponent to lose focus and possibly even cause them to hurt themselves (unsportsmanlikes, DQs, etc.), why wouldn’t you use it?  It’s comical because it’s just a word and it has no power except the power that the “victim” gives the speaker. It’s a by product of teaching your kids that a word’s offensiveness can be determine by the color of the speaker’s skin. If the word was offensive, you’d be offended when ANYBODY used it.

Maybe I’m just different, but I wanna beat the guy across from me, not call him something racially insensitive and make him lose his cool.

i get what your saying, if it’s that bad then people of neither color should use it. I agree 100%, but I’m not them. Only person I can control in the situation is myself.

I really hope this isn’t the excuse that WOS will hang their hat on. Football is a team sport. It’s “next man up” when someone goes out. Missing players for Covid, grades, etc can happen to anyone. I’m sorry you didn’t have the depth to compete with China Spring. You got to give credit where credit is due! China Spring is the real deal either way and earned it.

It’s “next man up”, not “next 6 guys up”

    there’s a big difference

Let's not start excuses. Even with the 8 kids out. There getting out coaches. They new all week these kids were out. U just can't throw kids in there that has never played on offense line bf and expect it to work.

So if you can’t expect it to work then how are they getting outcoached? Maybe WOS doing the best they can considering the circumstances
