Exactly right. Cornel had the talent to find weaknesses in the other side, and he capitalized on them, big time. You can take a team 4 deep in the playoffs, with minimum talent, if you have a great coach.

Whoever was crying and whining are just that... Whiners. Cornel would have won that game last night because he is a proven defense coach. You never saw anyone put that yardage last night on a Cornel Thompson coached team.

I don't know who wanted Cornel gone, but they were idiots. He has coached for 51 years and has a proven record. It takes a smart, tough coach to make a team work. Someone probably didn't get their way, or their kid didn't get to play for whatever reason. Whatever it was, no one can argue that Cornel Thompson was not successful. The whiners need to shut up. I for one want Cornel back right now, before this ship totally capsizes.

A good coach is as valuable as talent on the field. The reason people are mad is because the best coach for the job was passed over, and the new one came in and changed everything that has made this program the winningest percentage in the state. There is a lot more to how this happened, that really upset people. You apparently are not from Orange, don't know the whole story and it is too long and involved to tell you. But, if you are a fair man, you would be mad.

Leave the football program alone. We just need to be more physical and tackle better which will happen. It is not a fan problem, it is a coaching problem. WOS gave up 48 pts tonight, and the first district loss since 2009. I think I saw the 5-0 defense on 2 plays. The Silsbee yardage was astronomical. I support the team, and they deserve a coach that knows how to coach.

I just figured out how to expand the screen. It looked like WOS was running the 5-0 defence, but the picture was so small, it was hard to count. When Miller made that first long reception, there was only 4 on the line, and has ever since.

Thank you very much for your well wishes for my daughter. She needs lots of prayers. After graduating from WOS, I'm her last semester attaining her BSN, she fell victim to an extremely rare lung disease and had to drop out of school, and a year later underwent a double lung transplant. After years of taking the anti-rejection meds, she fell victim to lymphoma and is currently undergoing chemo. It appears it is going to be successful, but the side effects of chemo are horrible.

Coach Hickman spoke to the Orange 🍊 Texas Rotary Club today. He expressed the importance and hard work that was put in for the district to get the B rating and how athletics is going to help push us toward the A. He talked about football, but his message centered around developing the whole child. Valuing the seed every day at WOCCISD! #woccisd #WOSMUSTANGS #valuingtheseed #GoStangs
