Franklin has some impressive kids in the backfield.  A two-back offense with a lot of toss sweeps out of a slot-t look.  On their clips in MaxPreps they'll send the slot guy in motion away from the play.  Honestly it doesn't look overly impressive.  Having said that.. having your defense in the right place and tackling those backs are two different things.

Not enough people blame who is below the coaches.  Meaning... the players.

Maybe go the other direction.  Try having a whole bunch of 3A schools.  Increase the odds of having a winner.

That's a general statement.  Not enough people blame who's above the coaches.. It's also true that not enough people blame who's below the coaches.
But since you brought up the situation in Beaumont.  They have the athletes to beat who? You mean on the team or in the school? 
I normally like to give coaches a little more credit than most do.  Often times, a team isn't winning because of numerous factors outside of their actual ability to coach a team.  Including lack of talent.
Please answer this: Is Bill Belichick a great coach, or was he blessed with a great quarterback?

I remember back in 1999 when the West Canaan Coyotes coach was pushed out and the team moved on to win a championship without a head coach. An injured qb took over playcalling duties and the team won a championship.

It happens.  Maybe not more often than not.. but 4s definitely beat 1s.  It has always been my argument that even if it happens once, it justifies sending 4 teams... even though most people think it waters it down.
