Why is college baseball so far behind the other major sports when it comes to fan support, airtime, and news coverage? that's something i've always wondered...

HUGE 3 game sweep for the rangers over the stros. it was important for two reasons... they had just been swept by the tigers, and they needed this to keep their lead over the angels, and also they have the yankees in town this week, and it's going to be tough for them to take that series. right now the yanks are up over the rangers 10-0...

Yep, you prefer a passive response. i prefer a responsible, grounded response... as opposed to the immediate response to manufacture a racially motivated hate crime out of what has turned out to be a justifiable response from the police, and then continuing to insist that it's a hate crime even after an autopsy has showed that his own actions resulted in his death. i prefer a response that demands answers rather than one that gives the desired answers first, then tries to twist public opinion and evidence to fit those answers, even after it's clear that what the mother insised happened obviously didn't.

gave up a 5 run lead, but ended up beating the stros in extras 6-5! big win for the rangers to turn it around! i'll be there in person tomorrow!

i read the autopsy report, and it only appeared that he had superficial cuts and scrapes. how are they going to beat him to death without breaking any of his bones, or causing any mentionable damage to a vital organ?

the article didn't specify which wednesday... am i safe to assume that it will be on a wednesday in august?

well, in this case, LaDay's family is directly responsible for making it the news story it's become. it's not some HS kid who made a mistake, either. This is an adult who did something stupid, and then his family screamed hate crime, etc. etc. etc. then the family is proved wrong, and are STILL screaming hate crime. That strikes a lot of nerves on this site, and is going to lead some heated discussion, but as it this is all public information that has been published on other news sites, it's fair game to discuss on here. As an aside... on the steroids issue a few years back, was the young man's name published in any news outlets?

Quanell Preparation H is right, though. He probably wouldn't have died had he not come in contact with the police. So obviously it's LPD's fault that LaDay did the following... 1) Got VERY, VERY high (people with 1/3 of the amount of PCP that was in his system have died of PCP toxicity) 2) Drove high 3) Wrecked his car (I'm sure that did his overworking heart good considering the amount of drugs in his system) 4) Ran from the police (Again, very good for a heart that's already pumping too fast 5) Scuffled with police (Straw that broke the camel's back?) So, why should Preparation H apologize? He's worthless. Seriously... LaDay made all the wrong choices that night, yet Prep-H still wants to blame someone else. I guess if LaDay had killed someone coming the other way when he wrecked his car, it would've been their fault as well, as clearly it wouldn't have happened had "LaDay never come in contact with them"

it's all good. i appreciate the effort. maybe i might try to come out for the weigh in. or it's conceivable i could fish from the bank if i decide to. there was a guy in my dad's fishing club that used to fish from the bank during their tourney's by himself, and every now and then he'd take them by surprise.

What a joke. This woman's motives can't be questioned now, can they? Originally, we could say that she was upset and just wanted answers. Now we know that she's upset and just wanted money. I hope she loses respect in the community for this, but i'm sure that there will be plenty out there who want to make this guy a martyr for their own causes, even if he was responsible for his own death.

i definitely prefer the familiy's reaction here to the one that we got in lumberton.

La Marque Police Chief Richard Price says officers found the man rolling around in a ditch about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Price says the man fought with three officers when they tried to take him into custody. When the officers used the shock gun on the man, he collapsed and was taken to Mainland Medical Center in nearby Texas City, where he died. Price says the officers were bruised in the fight but were not injured severely. They've been assigned to administrative duties until the investigation is complete.
