  1. hitter in the 9-spot knocks one in with a single to give Texas a 4-2 lead.
  2. Homerun, Texas! 3-2, they lead!!!
  3. still 2-2, going to the bottom of the 6th.
  4. 2 run homer by michael ewing ties the score!
  5. horns turn their second inning-ending double play in a row. going to the bottom of the third.
  6. sounds like a pretty sweet trip...
  7. yup. what is ambres doing these days? still playing in the royals organization?
  8. 2-0 after two. nice play at second by ewing.
  9. beaumont's M. Ewing with a single for USM in the 2nd.
  10. Two american league pitchers hit homeruns today in interleague action. Beckett hit one for the Sox, and Buerhle hit one for the other Sox.
  11. Keys with a 2-run double in the bottom of the first to put the horns up 2-0.
  12. i still don't think they have enough to come back. of course, they usually have a really nice second half run, and they haven't dug a terribly deep hole yet this year.
  13. he had a rough day, going 4 over, and dropping to a tie for 47th. he'll still probably make as much as i do in 4 months teaching.
  14. whether or not his kid got screwed or not, his dad has got some serious issues. he had an excuse for every single bad outing his son had. everyone who ever played with his son was "jealous" and so on and so forth. his kid might have been good, or he might not have been. his dad sure sounds like the parents he was harping on who think their son is a star who should be playing more. sheesh.
  15. i refuse to write them off again. it's still pretty early to predict where they might finish, though.
  16. you very well could be right. not having KG hurt them badly this year.
  17. Cavs were in finals last year ,so getting there has not been the prob. This prod will be Shaq's last chance of getting back to finals. He helped Kobe and D Wade get there championships why not help LABRON. He is still one of the best real big men the league has. Don't know how much he has left ,but if they save him for the playoffs they could get there. um, my Celtics won the finals last year. he's just saying they were able to get there.
  18. that would be interesting. i don't think Shaq has that much left to offer, but as blatantly average as the cavs are with the exception of Bron Bron, he might be able to help them.
  19. FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- So much for the Oregon coronation. Instead, Texas A&M was the school that made track and field history. Justin Oliver held on for second place as the anchor in the 1,600-meter relay, giving the Aggies the men's team title at the NCAA track and field championships Saturday. Texas A&M also won the women's title, becoming the first school since 1990 to win both outdoor championships. The Oregon men were seeking a rare "Triple Crown" after winning titles in cross country and indoor track and field earlier this season. Nobody's done that since Arkansas in 1998-99. The relay -- the last event of this week's meet -- knocked the Ducks out of first place. [Hidden Content]
  20. as difficult as it is to make it to the CWS, it's hard to say that Texas is overrated. I'll admit that the Tigers probably deserved the #1 seed, though.
  21. ORLANDO, Fla. -- The NBA has fined Lakers coach Phil Jackson $25,000 for criticizing the officials during Game 4 of the Finals. The league also penalized the Lakers $25,000 on Saturday for Jackson's comments, which came during an interview with ABC between the first and second quarters of their 99-91 overtime victory Thursday. Jackson said there were some "bogus" calls after the Lakers' Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum each picked up two fouls in the first quarter. Game 5 of the NBA Finals is at 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC.
  22. with all due respect, i've seen 67 year olds that were in GREAT shape, and he might be healthy, but he dang sure should know better than riding a 50 MILE bike ride. he's not THAT healthy! he's lucky he only broke ribs and not his head.
