i picked cecil + braun to have more total bases than soriano + lee. that was a killer for me.

they're the team i root for in the NL, but they're garbage this year. already digging themselves a hole that will probably be too deep to get out of when they have their annual 2nd half run.

i disagree... when have they had good starts in the last several years? they have bad starts that they can't ever dig themselves out of, or if they ever get close, the angels have always had more firepower.

terrible story... and just hours after only his 4th major league start... this is certainly a tragedy.

yup! glad to know i have at least ONE fellow ranger fan on here.

all of my brackets fell apart. i quit paying attention there at the end. i'm just glad i squeaked out a top-half finish.

exposure can also affect who makes the team. playing at HJ, i was passed over my sophomore and junior years where my stats (combined 50+ goals and 20+ assists) and performance were more than enough to get mentioned , but our coach didn't call in our scores to the papers, and unless we were playing the big name schools (i usually made the papers in scorelines like 5-1 or 6-2), we got little to no coverage at all. i know there are always some high profile players left off, but i felt a bit slighted that i never made it. when i scored 30 goals as a sophomore (playing half the season at defensive mid), i was especially upset that i didn't make it. it's worth mentioning that that was the season that jimmy stone got slighted as a senior.

if he's hitting well, absolutely. he's a career .301 hitter, he'll hit HR #300 early on this year, over 500 career doubles and 1200 runs and rbi's. his power has waned a bit the last few years, but he can still put a charge in the ball, and we might see him crack the 20 HR mark again this year with the juice box's short porch in right.

I know most of ya'll are stros fans, but i've been a ranger fan since i was a little kid. they shelled last year's AL Cy Young winner Cliff Lee today beat the Indians 9-1! 1-0, baby!!!

i never put much stock in it... lots of players who make it are very deserving, but every year it gets as many wrong as it does right

i honestly do. look at the shape he keeps himself in. he's good enough to win on a torn ACL, and also in his 2nd tourney back from ACL surgery. he's good enough to win with his "C" game. i find it hard to believe he won't still winning (at least occasionally) late into his 40's, if he chooses to play that long.
