  1. and he wins! the best ever. period.
  2. again, i locked the thread, and though i didn't agree with how he went about it, i agreed with many of the views of the person responsible for getting the thread locked.
  3. also worth noting: Palin didn’t fire the chef, instead transferred her to the Republican state legislature to cook gourmet meals in their legislative lounge. ANOTHER SUGAR-COATED LIE — Designed to portray her as a reform (CHANGE) minded candidate. This means that while she didn't continue to receive gourmet meals at home, her decision saved the tax-payers approximately $0.00. i don't know much that speaks to having a better fiscal concious than other politicians. .
  4. i'm not going to give Palin too much credit for selling the plane. the fact that the previous governor likely lost his re-election bid DUE to the fact that he bought the plane probably played a considerable role in her decision to sell it, rather than being fiscal. if i won a public election largely because my opponent had wasted a vast amount of public funds buying an unneccesary item, i'd probably make selling said item one of my first moves as well. she likely would've kept it had it not been such a point of contention amongst voters. McCain tried to say that she sold it on E-bay for a profit. in fact, The jet was placed on eBay for sale, but it wasn't purchased from the site. The plane was eventually sold through an aircraft broker to businessman Larry Reynolds for less than the asking price and the original cost.
  5. Dickie, you should know by now from reading some other threads that i'm a liberal democrat. that thread wasn't locked because anybody was being "out-debated". i don't like sarah palin. i made that clear early in the thread. the fact of the matter is that the thread was getting out of hand. mud slinging, name calling, sexual innuendo, and a great deal of hostility all factored into my decision to lock the thread. nobody is going to stop anyone from giving their opinion on this site, as long as they abide by site rules. i counted 4 separate site rules broken in the few hours that i was away on that one particular thread. there were too many implied curse words, innapropriate comments, derogatory comments, abusive comments, and sexual innuendos for me to waste my time trying to go back and edit the thread. this is why i locked it. i could care less if you feel like SFA was winning a debate against the conservatives. that had no role in my decision to lock the thread. that being said, if the same thing happens in this thread, i'll lock it again.
  6. i'd have some more caption contest material.
  7. or snapper... or tripletail...
  8. liar it's true, he folded like a lawnchair!
  9. i'm sure he's okay with it. this is a big signing for them, and probably makes them the frontrunner to win the championship again next year, especially if they get odom back.
  10. I have more if someone else needs one to fish with. We need to get together with Bullets in a couple weeks and go to sabine lake. I might take you up on the flyrod offer....I dont remember what kind of shape mine is in. Would be fun catching reds or specs on a flyrod. i don't know about flyfishing, but i'm willing to try to learn! just let me know. i'm always down for a fishing trip!!!
  11. tvc and i are offering a group rate. you pay half as much and get us both, but we drink twice as much of your beer. (you also will most likely catch half as many fish)
  12. i just call it like i see it a coworker of mine has had a huge crush on him for the last 3 or 4 years, and i've been trying to tell her how exceptionally average of a player he is, even if he does have a cute butt. VINDICATION!
  13. after losing the first game of their series, the rangers won the last two against the angels to pull to within 1/2 game of the angels. the angels have been incredibly hot lately, so this was an impressive effort. tonight the rangers blew a 6 run lead, including giving up 3 in the 9th, but won it on a walkoff HR with two outs by Hank Blalock. what a game!
  14. yeah, my grandmother beat Romo in a "don't crack under pressure" competition.
  15. Shaq is getting old. i think he'll benefit from being in the Cavs' slower system, but it's still a matter of whether or not he'll be able to hold up all year. it might be a good idea for them to let him rest up for about the first 60 games and then let him come back in time to get in shape for the playoffs.
  16. my advice, get a good guide. i hear bullets13 Q is an excellent guide for in and around the keys...
  17. he hasn't done crap in two years. get over yourself and take a few weeks in AAA ball to get yourself right, and then come back. they don't need him anyway. he's a better hitter than he is a pitcher, and he's not really that good of a hitter.
  18. HOUSTON (AP) - A federal judge has rejected Roger Clemens's bid to revive some of his defamation claims against Brian McNamee, clearing the way for the former trainer to file his own suit against the seven-time Cy Young Award winner. U.S. District Court Judge Keith Ellison on Tuesday reaffirmed his earlier ruling against Clemens. If Clemens ``believes that the federal investigators or the Mitchell Commission overstepped the bounds of the law, he is free to bring suit against those enemies, subject to possible immunity,'' the judge said. ``This is the final nail in Clemens' Texas coffin,'' said Richard Emery, a McNamee attorney. He said McNamee intends to sue Clemens for defamation. ``We want Clemens to testify in New York against his former Yankee fans and see what they think of him,'' Emery said Wednesday. Clemens' attorney, Rusty Hardin, did not return a call from The Associated Press. McNamee has told federal agents, baseball investigator George Mitchell and a House committee that he injected Clemens more than a dozen times with steroids and human growth hormone from 1998-2001. Clemens has denied using performance-enchancing drugs. The judge in February dismissed most of Clemens' defamation lawsuit, saying statements made in the Mitchell report on doping in baseball are protected. McNamee's attorneys said the lawsuit had no merit because McNamee was compelled to cooperate by federal investigators. Ellison agreed, though he left in McNamee's statements to Andy Pettitte, Clemens' former New York Yankees teammate. McNamee told Pettitte that Clemens had used HGH and steroids, and Pettitte testified about the conversation to Congress. Clemens is under investigation by a federal grand jury in Washington that is trying to determine whether he lied when he told a congressional committee that he had not used illegal performance-enhancing drugs. Clemens said he had not been summoned to testify before the grand jury.
  19. with 7 extra spots, maybe you and i and aries can get our first callups. i think one of us might be able to find the back of the net against grenada.
  20. i'm glad to see Cody do well. i graduated with him, and he's a good guy. hopefully he can have a great second half and work his way up.
  21. sweet. thanks.
  22. You're gonna need TeleFutura or Galavision to get a look at Torres because he went back to Pachuca and didn't make the final roster. didn't know that. it shows him still on the link provided.
  23. having too many players is never a bad thing. then again, if he's not good enough to play for a program that's not as good as us, will he really be able to make a difference?
  24. interesting reading. bound to cause some problems, though.
  25. I'm interested to see what Davies can do with some full time against lesser opponents. hopefully Torres will get a chance as well.
