1. Silsbee up 3.  Tigers haven't been whistled for a foul yet this half, but the hawks have been called for 2 already :)
 2.
Sound like Silsbee getting a lot of fouls called on them HJ getting half of their 2nd quarter points from the free throw line Can’t say anything about the refs because I’m not there but sounds fishy when nothing is getting called on HJ
sounds like Silsbee was getting easy layups, and that HJ was getting fouled when they went up for them.  I'm just listening as well, but that's what it sounded like, and Mike hasn't been griping about the fouls that were called.
 3. sounds like Silsbee is getting too many easy layups, but at least the hawks are making their freethrows finally.  5 of their last 7 are good, Tigers up 3
 4. Silsbee getting some momentum, up 23-20
 5. Hawks lead after 1, 18-16.
 6. Intentional foul called on Silsbee's Harris.  2 shots and the ball with not much time left in the 1st.  I think the hawks are up 1, haven't heard the score in awhile.
 7. 17-11, hawks lead, 1-5 from the line.
 8. Prudhomme had to go out.  Hopefully he's ok.
 9. 15-9, hawks lead, Prudhomme fouled hard trying to dunk.  Still waiting to see if he's okay.  sounds like it was dirty, but they didn't call the intentional.
 10. Hawks up 9-3.  Prudhomme with 6 points and at least 5 rebounds already.  he also has one foul.

Why was there such a drop in year round players? The same thing is happening in Silsbee, by next year there will not be a single player that actually plays or has played competatively outside high school.
we routinely beat Silsbee, Ozen, Central, Vidor (although those schools have improved), Kountze, Jasper, LCM, WOS (they actually had a pretty good team then) and others.  Lumberton was about the same then as they are now, and they usually beat us, but we played them close from my sophomore year on and split district with them one year.  We usually got thumped by PNG and Nederland, but those two were going DEEP in the playoffs every year (the nederland team had two players who played MLS, and one who's seen time on the US national team).
Why do you care about how much we post? I mean it is in no way a violation of the rules or hurting anyone. Most of the people that even get on the soccer forums thes days get on to see our posts, and while they are at it im sure they look at other posts having nothing to do with silsbee as well. You should thank us Silsbee folks for making the soccer forum half way interesting and popular.
nobody is interested in the silsbee stuff except for the 5-10 kids from silsbee who keep posting.  I can assure you i have had nearly a dozen different people complain about y'all, without having a single person comment how much they enjoy your threads.  what it is hurting is that anytime someone wants to find a legitimate topic on the soccer forum, they have to fish through 3 or 4 bogus ones to find one.  also, for every silsbee love-fest topic, there's been at least two legitimate topics hijacked and turned into other silsbee love-fests.  this is going to stop as well.  i have no problem with you guys posting, but there will not be 5 topics about the same thing, especially when it's the same 5 kids playing around that are making these topics.  from now on, this topic is your playtoy.  the rest of the soccer forum will be for legitimate conversation.  Of course, I will not stop you from making game thread topics and other relevant topics, but if they're a joke, they're going in with this one.
 13.
Some truly funny stuff here.  Where did Ron Burgundy go?
they all got banned last year by the higher ups.  this group of silsbee kids is this year's anchorman crew.

Silsbee just had a 6'10 kid enroll in school today from Dallas. He is a junior.
If he is playing tonight, I will bet that PoppaBear may want to consider his 13 point victory prediction.  Now that we know he is 6'10 has it been established that he is a basketball player?  Assuming he is, is he a good player?
correction.  it was actually two stacked midgets wearing a trench coat because of the cold conditions.  but yes, they DO play basketball
 15.
Sorry, sleepy, wake up..best fresh in 3a in state..Maybe...but thats not what was said...Now thats a fact, not an opinion!!!!!!!!
I would argue Bosha's a top-5 freshman in the state in 3A.  that being said, i have no factual evidence to base that on other than his impressive stats, his length, and his ability to shoot the ball.
 16. i'm not sure if i'm going to make it or not.  i'm not sure what the roads will be like tonight after the rain we've gotten over the past few days, and i'm not really interested in getting home that late for a game that none of my progeny play in, or having to watch 3 other games just to get to the one i'm there for.
 17. From now on any new topics about how great Silsbee is are going to be merged into this one.
 18.
Did I read this score correctly in the HF tourney thread? Silsbee beat HJ 4-1 No way!!! There is no possible way Silsbee can beat a team of that magnitude. I mean, bullets, our resident soccer pro, played for HJ. Aren't they considered to be a dynasty? ;D This is a program changing win for Silsbee!! Kudos to the Tiger Soccer team!!
sorry i didn't see this sooner.  no disrespect to the HJ teams of the last few years, but the HJ team i played for 10 years (sheesh, that's a long time), would beat any HJ team of the last 5-6 years by at least 7 or 8 goals (Silsbee's team was much better back then, also, although it sounds like they're improving this year).  HJ struggles from not having many players who play soccer year round.  My sophomore year, we could start a full team of players who played competitively year-round, and had 3 or 4 subs who did like-wise.  By my senior year, we only had 7 total.  Last year HJ had only 1-2 players who played any consistent soccer before high school.  It's tough.  There is no "Little Kickers" league.  Parents out in the country have to make an effort to put their kids in soccer programs, and it usually means travel.  Not too many are interested in that, especially with our rich basketball tradition.  We were no dynasty, however, even back then, although we did make the playoffs all 4 years i was there, and won our only district championship in 98-99 (co-champs with l-town).

How many games have U seen them play this year, and have U seen the other 'top Dawgs' in the state??
Nederland sure hasn't, and when they do, they'll probably lose.  They're going to have to beat at least 4 teams better than any on their schedule up to this point in order to win state.  They're a very good team in this area, but this area is way down in 4A/5A basketball this year.
That's not my question ; I did not claim that they have faced an echelon team other than Christian Life. My question is; Have YOU seen these other teams play personally? If not, then how do U know how they will match up? For instance, I watched G. Ball play in the Nederland Classic. Nederland matches up very well with them-so it's not crazy to say they can get out of their region...
yes, it is crazy to say that.

 21.

Well during Silsbee's game against Jasper last friday I saw James do the most amazing thing I have ever seen in a high school soccer match. As you all should know, James playes defense, and is a brick wall. Well at one point in the game one of the Jasper players hit a through ball past our defense to a player who was in full sprint. By the time any of the Silsbee team knew what had just happened the Jasper player was a good 20 yards behind our defense. James Trabing saw this and started running towards the goal. However, James was at an angle so that he was closer to our goal than to the actual Jasper player. So James started sprinting towards the goal to see if he could block the shot. Then, out of nowhere the Jasper player hit a rocket right for the left upper 90 of the goal. James then knew there was only one way he could block the shot. So as James was running towards the goal at full sprint he jumped into the air and did the most beautiful bycicle kick, and made solid contact with the ball that was about to g into the goal. Also, the ball that James biked went directly to a Silsbee player on the other half of the feild who was completely open and scored. This has to be the most amazing save and assist in high school soccer history. I am truely blessed that I got to witness it.
a [s]relevant[/s] ridiculous James Trabing post.
