Texas has been hot from deep, going 6-11 from deep. Without three 3-pointers late in the half from John Roberson for TT this game would be an even bigger blowout.

Also seemed to be one of the best attended games I have seen the Bears play this year. The fan support was noticable and I know the boys appreciate it. Silsbee has had a couple of letdowns in district, but the fact of the matter is that they're soooo much better than everybody else that HJ is the only team realistically capable of beating them in district. Even if Silsbee plays a bad game and WOS plays a great game, I'd still expect Silsbee to win by a half-dozen.

All BISD events for tomorrow night cancelled. -
I was at the HJ/Cleveland game last year, and i think HJ got preferential treatment: not because the refs were favoring HJ, but rather because they were pissed at Cleveland for having to look at their awful warmups.
I think HJ could beat Cleveland but they would have to play tough all 4 quarters to do it I’m not sure but Cleveland might have has some good subs / athleticism on that bench if so Cleveland might rotate like Silsbee and try and ware down HJ HJ might need to find away to keep their starting 5 fresh going into the 4th
I think that's a fair assessment. However, I don't think Cleveland is quite as good as Silsbee, despite the rankings, which makes me feel like HJ should beat Cleveland, again like you said if they can keep their starting five relatively fresh. -

**Silsbee at HJ BROADCAST/Tigers win 64-51!**
bullets13 replied to Lazeek's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
A team plays another team equal or better for 3 quarters two times in 3 weeks, and you come on bragging about how you "knew HJ had no shot at beating silsbee". HJ put themselves in great position to beat them, not once but twice. I'm not talking about Nederland playing a garbage game against PNG and the Indians having a flukey shot at beating the dawgs, i'm talking about HJ playing as well or better than the tigers for 3 quarters TWICE. Now, i've already stated that Silsbee is the better team, but HJ has a decent shot of beating them any time they play, not "no shot". Nederland has "no shot" at advancing to state. Bridge City has "no shot" at making the playoffs. HJ could beat Silsbee, and it wouldn't take a whole lot of breaks to do it. That is merely the point i was trying to make. I do like the comment "I didn't want to say anything negative until after the game until i could see what the score ended up being", however. You'd think since you "knew HJ had no shot of beating Silsbee", you would've made your bold prediction before the games, rather than after they occured. -

I dont want to cause too much trouble, but I remember being told by quite a few people on this site about the "history" and how it's "tradition" for Silsbee and HJ to split the district games.. I saw this coming from the start of the season and knew that HJ had NO chance of beating Silsbee.. The next things that I predicted is that HJ and SIlsbee will NOT play again this year ( In other words, HJ will lose before they reach Silsbee again in the playoffs ). On on a much more friendly note, Congrats to the Silsbee Tigers for TCB and setting themselves up to win another district title! And good luck to HJ with the rest of their season and getting ready for playoffs!
HJ could have easily won either game. Silsbee is certainly the better, deeper team, but HJ absolutely has the talent to beat this team. HJ held a lead at the end of 3 in the first game, and a lead with 1 minute left in the 3rd in the 2nd game. Silsbee's depth helped them pull away at the end of both games, but i'd challenge you to find anyone who saw either of these games who thinks there's NO way that HJ could beat Silsbee.
This sounds too much of a Woulda Coulda Shoulda If HJ will beat Silsbee than it won’t be an easy task like you stated Can’t say that HJ could or will beat Silsbee because it has not happened this year Just Sayin’
You obviously don't understand the phrase "Could easily happen". All i was stating is that they were in the game, and if a few things break differently and they're 2-0 against Silsbee rather than 0-2. Now, I've already said that Silsbee is the better team, but for this guy to say that HJ has NO chance to beat Silsbee is asinine, as HJ has aready held their own with them twice. -
Silsbee Soccer, though ridiculed on this site by many, has one of the key ingredients to a great team in anny given sport, teamwork and spirit. Regardless of a win or loss, the Silsbee soccer team is one to stick together through thick, thin, rain, or shine to build their teammates up. Isnt that what sports is all about anyhow? i believe that some on this site have lost site of true leadership and and sportsmanship (Silsbee students included) and why the game is played in the first place. It is not to win, get a scholoarship, or to rant on a public forum about....it is to learn to work with other people, learn about yourself and enjoy the game of Soccer. After all, It is not like the boys are being paid for their performance. I, honestly, have never seen such a lack of class from ALL people from ALL schools. There is a difference between school spirit and being completely inappropriate. This James Trabing for MVP has gotten out of hand, however has brought a school and team together. I speak for all of Silsbee when I say that even though we ruffled a few feathers, it was worth it. #3 for MVP!
this is what i'm talking about. we've had this thread three or four times already. i'll be merging it.

I'm not asking you to quit posting. I have no problem with you posting. What I have a problem with is that there are silly threads being started, and kids making 2,3, or 4 accounts to talk to THEMSELVES on these threads, and they're so silly that people are getting pissed off about them. As i said before, from this point on, those threads will be added to this one. period. problem solved! also, any legitimate thread that is hijacked will be a problem. As for rules that have been violated by your friends: 2) ONE membership per person! Any caught with 2 accounts will have both of them terminated. Nor will we tolerate any member impersonating other members. If you have, for whatever reason created another account (or 2), don't panic. Just inform an administrator of the duplicates with usernames used and we'll take care of it. 9) Keep to the subject. Post to the section that is most appropriate for the topic being presented. 17) The admins and moderators here are volunteers. They dedicate a portion of their time to helping us with the forums. No abuse or disrespect of any of the admins or moderators will be tolerated. Now, like i said, i'm usually pretty reasonable. I've banned two people from this site out of you guys so far, and one of them insulted me, and the other failed to delete all of his extra accounts after he had assured me he would do so. Both of these issues could have (should have) been lifetime bans. I gave one guy 10 days, and one 7. So i'm really not trying to pick on anyone, but there are rules that will be followed. More than anything I'm trying to avoid what happened last year when HF had about 10 people on here posting everywhere, and they eventually got so annoying and created and hijacked so many threads that the people above me on the site banned EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, even the ones who weren't too bad.
Fair enough, but why would anyone ever tell you that they enjoy the posts? That is just ridiculous. If they enjoy the posts then they enjoy the posts, and there is no point in telling the moderator about it. Also people do not have to search to find real soccer posts. There are only like 5 new topics a week, and the 4 or 5 topics about silsbee are not causing any trouble to people that want to look at somthing different. Plus, those people complaining to you just do not like Silsbee Soccer. It has nothing to do with us breaking the rules. They wouldnt be acting this way if it was another school...abearsbear(cough, cough)...you can not get mad at us if we are not breaking any rules. Even if 1000 people complain to you, we are doing nothing wrong. Oh and if noone enjoys our posts, then why are they the most viewed topics on the soccer forum. Also, we do not flood other topics with Silsbee stuff if we did not start the topic to begin with.
The people complaining span a wide variety of fans, coaches, and players, none of which have ever expressed a personal issue against silsbee soccer. As a moderator, I can delete any comment or ban any member for any reason, or for no reason at all. Now, i'm not unreasonable, and i never do anything like that, but technically i could, so don't get too worried about what's "fair" and "not fair". "We reserve the right to: to change or add rules to the forums as and when is required; to ban/reject users from the forum; to edit/delete/move posts if deemed appropriate and to review members' pm messages if strange activity on the forum is suspected. Failure to abide to these rules may result in a full IP Ban and further action may be taken under discretion of the administrator(s) The forum owners reserve the right to ban any user, at any time, and for any reason." Because there are 8 or 10 kids from Silsbee who get on those same threads multiple times a day, while spending no time in any other soccer threads. \There have been several legit threads that have turned into ridiculous Silsbee threads, including threads about the best players and the district champions from 37-4A. Just because those threads were started by Silsbee people does not mean they are Silsbee threads

Nobody over 6'2 as AAW said and HJ will have 6'2, 6'3, 6'3 and 6'6 starting!!! To go along with 5'6 PG!!!!
HJ is taller than Silsbee this year and that doesn’t seem to be hurting the Tigers
yup. but it will matter next year when Silsbee plays their one returning starter. Silsbee will always be solid, but they're losing two players that they can't even come close to replacing. HJ is losing a point guard that they can come close to replacing, and they'll fill Sutherland's spot with a mini-Sutherland. Also, imagine how good Bosha will be next year. He's already been arguably a top-25 player in the area as a 14-year-old 6'3" freshman. I'm really looking forward to seeing how teams in this area guard a 6'5" or 6'6" wing player next year who can handle the ball some, slash to the basket, and is silky smooth from deep.
