)  :D I (hfmom) would be brave enough to say "If HF would stop coaching like it's Little Dribblers, we COULD handle Silsbee and anyone else in our district THIS YEAR"

HF has just as much talent as HJ so yes they could win this game.
So let's see, you've stated that HF COULD handle Silsbee and anyone else in the district THIS YEAR.  You've also stated that HF has just as much talent as HJ.  What words exactly did i put in your mouth?  You seem to think that if you say something like "HF could handle anyone in the district", and i say that you said "HF could handle HJ", that i misquoted you.  Not particularly true, since HJ is included in "anyone in the district THIS YEAR".  So like i was saying, asinine.  And ignorant?  Which are more ignorant, your statements, or AAW's which completely disagreed with you?  I'd say if AAW says you're wrong, you're probably the one making ignorant statements considering he's seen both teams play multiple times, and has probably watched thousands of HS basketball games over his lifetime, including regional and state tournaments (i think he's been to the state tournament over 30 years in a row as a spectator).   Definition of ASININE 1: extremely or utterly foolish <an asinine excuse> 2: of, relating to, or resembling a donkey (this is not the asinine i'm referring to) 3. HF has just as much talent as HJ Definition of IGNORANT 1a : destitute of knowledge or education <an ignorant society>; also : lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified <parents ignorant of modern mathematics> 1b : resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence <ignorant errors> 2. If the coach would quit coaching like it's little dribblers, HF could handle anyone in the district THIS YEAR Now, could the unlikely happen, and HF somehow upset HJ?  Sure, it's not out of the realm of possibilities.  Is it likely?  Of course not.  Would a different coach make it likely?  Of course not.
 2. this is probably a 4 or 5 win team without Bailey.  She's that good.  That being said, this year's HJ girls' team is lightyears ahead of last year's team.  They're off to a great start, but they'll definitely have their work cut out for them come district time.
HF didn't play with the intensity they had against Silsbee. Plus Silsbee missed a bunch of easy shots and bad passes. ;)
Correction Blue - Silsbee was only missing their 2nd best player and their head coach which make up the team!  :)
yeah, and if HF had a different coach, they'd "handle HJ".  just like they would've handled WOS, i presume?
I'm not saying that at all. "It is what it is."
i wasn't directing that at you, blue.  mom there wants to throw my words back in my face,  so i'll be happy to throw her own asinine words back in hers.
 4. HFmom is starting to remind me of all the vidor fans who predicted that Vidor was going to compete for a district championship after starting out 19-0 or something against terrible teams (they did beat HF four times, ironically enough).  those fans argued with me back and forth when i suggested that their garbage schedule proved nothing as to how good they are. now that the district has started, Vidor is 2-6 in district, and fans are making posts like "i just don't understand it, these kids are as talented as any team in the district..."  well, no they aren't, or they wouldn't be 2-6.  the same goes for HF.  they are improved this year from last year, but seriously, you're 1-3 in district with your one win against 8-18 BC, and hanging your hat on a close LOSS! (reminds me of vidor vs. nederland, by the way)  you can GUARANTEE at least 3 more losses in district, possibly 4 or 5.  best case scenario is 4-6 in district, and that's would be much better than last season, but seriously, this team is as talented as anyone... it's all the coach's fault.
 5. Horns played well tonight, especially considering the emotion that the Cowboys were playing with as they honored the 10 players/staff who were killed 10 years ago in that plane crash.  the refs weren't giving the horns much help at the start of the game, either, but the horns fought through and then dominated the 2nd half.
HF could have the best coach in America and they still wouldn't win this game.
Funny you should say that Bobcat - HF sure did beat OF (Bobcats) this season without "the best coach in America".  So you think if HF had Phil Jackson  :o they still wouldn't win against HJ?  HF has just as much talent as HJ so yes they could win this game.  And yes, I'm a Laker fan too!
now we're back to making ignorant comments.  that's pretty laughable. yes, HF is better than last year, but they're still on pace to win only 2 district games.  HJ could finish 3rd in district (probably 2nd) if they were coached by a slightly retarded monkey.  now that's not saying that their incredible coaching staff doesn't make a difference, because it does, but you're out of your mind.  HF doesn't have that much talent.  no way.

 8. scrimmages do not count towards your record.  they're for giving coaches a chance to try things out and let some of the backups get some experience.

 11. Vidor won more games against better teams.  That being said, it is nice for silsbee that they're starting the season so well.
 12.
So can I assume that the HF coaches coached as if they were in Little Dribblers and that is what kept the horns from handling WO-S? ;)
absolutely.  didn't you hear?  HF would handle anyone in the district if they weren't coached like that ;)
I don't think 11 is unfair, but they're a top-10 team... maybe 7th or 8th.  Look at their losses, three probable 4A playoff teams, one of the best 3A teams in the state in Silsbee (and they were in great position to win this one), and a 1-point loss to defending 1A state champs Cayuga (which they later avenged by 19).

 19.

I (hfmom) would be brave enough to say "If HF would stop coaching like it's Little Dribblers, we COULD handle Silsbee and anyone else in our district THIS YEAR" that's a more ignorant statement than the predictions made that silsbee would blow out HF.  you're going to brag about a loss against silsbee who was without probably their 2nd best player and their head coach?  they also surely overlooked you guys.  your coach also played not to get blown out, rather than to win (according to BD).  HF may have an outside chance at the playoffs but they're still looking at at LEAST 6 losses in district this year, maybe 7 or 8.
Ignorance - A state of being uninformed (lack of knowledge).  I have nothing to prove to you nor anyone else here but I would have to say you don't know me because I am not at all "uninformed" nor do I "lack knowledge" about the statement that I made and stand by.  Again I say, I'm not beating any chests nor am I bragging about a loss but it seems to me that you are making excuses (silsbee being without "probably" their 2nd best player and their head coach) as most people do after their predictions don't pan out.  Your statement sounds a little "ignorant" because if you have to say "probably" then I would think that is falls under uninformed/lack of knowledge.  If you're so sure of yourself then you would know whether or not whomever you refer to as being the 2nd best player is really the 2nd best player.  If you're going to quote BD then get it right...he stated "the HF staff played to lose and not make it a blowout".  HF staff needs to start "playing to WIN and not make it a blowout" and have confidence in the players they have.  I've been around these players much longer than the HF staff and I know (that's having knowledge) what talent HF has.
sorry i paraphrased that quote... quite ignorant of me to assume you'd understand.  and yes, i'll plead some ignorance as to the best players on silsbee's squad.  i know about them, but not well enough to say who's 2nd or 3rd best behind DC.  if i'm interpreting this statement correctly "I (hfmom) would be brave enough to say "If HF would stop coaching like it's Little Dribblers, we COULD handle Silsbee and anyone else in our district THIS YEAR" then you're saying essentially that HF would be at the top of this district with a different coaching staff.  you can say that that isn't an ignorant statement all you want, but you'd be wrong.  again, HF is certainly improved this year, but they're looking at 2 losses to silsbee, 2 to HJ, probably 2 to WOS, the loss you've already picked up against OF, and that's 7 if they win every other game.  Young Mr. Hunter makes a difference, but he's not going to make that big of a difference just yet.
actually we techinicually did, but its just because we did not play a very hard scheduale, but still, we are the best 3A school it seems like :)
i'm assuming there was no finals, just kind of a round robin type setup?

We are no longrer a team that fights, but a team that playes soccer.
Too bad. I like a soccer team that fights, makes it more interesting, like hockey. ;D
maybe you can teach that frame of mind to the basketball team.  HJ would cakewalk over the Tigers if they lost 3 or 4 starters due to ejection...
 24. Even though last year's team was very good, this team is better for a few reasons: this team has more scorers than last year. Tristan Thomas is WAY better than Dexter Pittman, and Jordan Hamilton is unstoppable.  J Brown has been fantastic this year, and has cut his turnovers way down.  Corey Joseph also scores in bunches. Defense: the horns' D was good last year, but they're one of the best in the nation this year.  Balbay and Brown lock down opposing point guards, Hamilton shuts down the wings, and Thomas and Gary Johnson own the paint.  The Morris twins had to work their butts off today to COMBINE for 26 points and 12 boards on only 8-24 shooting. Composure: This team was able to come back from as deep as a 15-point deficit, and a 12-point halftime deficit to win against what many people feel is the best team in the country.  Last year's team would've folded like a lawnchair.  This team IS good enough to win a national championship, because they can beat ANYONE in the country.
 25. Texas is as good as any team in the nation.  look at their wins: (Rankings are at the time the game was played) #16 Illinois North Carolina #12 Michigan St. #10 aTm #2 Kansas (end KU's 69 game home winning streak!) 3 losses 2-point loss to #4 pitt 1-point loss in OT to #9 UCONN (after the luckiest shot i've seen all year gave UCONN the lead) 17-point loss @ USC (the horns only bad game all year, although USC is a decent team)
