2. Texas 2nd by just one vote!  It's just a number, though.
 3.

Texas wins by 9. we beat Kansas already, UT should be #1
They had Kansas ranked ahead of Texas even right after we beat them. I think it was because of who they had beaten compared to who we played.....a SOS type deal. I believe they said that OSU hasn't beaten Wisconsin in 6 years. Texas finally beats Baylor in 5 tries.
Texas has better wins than KU. that being said, Texas has 3 losses, and KU has only one, even though their loss was to Texas.  If Texas hadn't lost at USC they'd be #1 right now.  their other two losses were by two points each to two great teams, UCONN and Pitt.
 4. Gary Johnson stuck up for JB, said he was the most unselfish player on the team.  Now, that might be an overstatement, as i see him get a little snippity at times, but i do admire JB for coming off the bench when he'd be starting for probably 99% of the teams in america.
 5. it doesn't make sense to me.  freethrows are easy.  I quit playing basketball in the 9th grade, and my senior year i got drawn to go out at halftime to shoot freethrows to win a cookie cake.  i made 4 straight and won the cake, and it had been literally 3 years since i'd taken one.  now don't get me wrong, i was surprised i made 4 in a row in that situation, but the point is that even after all that time it wasn't hard for me to find a soft touch and a decent arc.  i don't understand how guys who can make half of their contested jump shots are only making half of their uncontested, untimed freethrows, even after shooting probably 1000 or more of them in practice every year.
 6. Unbelievable scoreline.  nothing to hang your head about putting up six goals on the 21-time defending state champions.  good luck to all kelly seniors who end up playing at the next level.
 7. what happened to HF this year?  weren't they pretty good last year?
 8.
I dont care whats out in the media, i believe Deron Williams had some kind of hand in this.
kinda sounds like it.
 9. is there even another lamar forum out there?  if so, i've never heard of it.
 10.
HJ running the spread offense? They sure aren't scoring much.
I'd be willing to bet that BC is running the spread offense to keep the score down, but who knows.

Thanks for the help. Good luck to all the girls and boys teams this year!
There are no ties in boys 38-4A (dont know about girls).  It goes 2 overtimes, then 5-man shootout, then sudden death shootout
but do you know about the scoring for OT wins, OT losses, and shootout wins and losses?
 12.
Why not ask WT what is best for his program, best for his athletes and best for the community?
these guys have been allowed to make a salary while already receiving their retirement.  they've been done quite a service by this district.  if the district can longer provide that service due to financial constraints, nobody should be misled into thinking they're being mistreated.  as for what's best for all of the program, athletes, or community, the #1 question that's going to be asked is what's best for the district.  even though it may be to some fans, football is not the #1 priority in any school district.  maybe back in the day, but not anymore.

Take emotion out of this and the only part that makes no sense is the fact that these employees are 1. Retired from the education system and recieving a pension. 2. Working for the same education system and recieving a paycheck. They and many others are double dipping the system. It should not be possible. If they want to come out of retirement and coach or teach because they are good at it, they enjoy it and are needed that would be fantastic. It is nothing personal with these two fine coaches it just does not make good financial sense.
This is BS ! Teachers and Coaches are some of the lowest paid people in the State, and they are the ones teaching our Children ! They deserve allot more than what they are getting. This is just one way that they can get the money they should have been getting all along. Coaches spend countless hours at the school for next to nothing !
Just because these are "good men" and are well liked does not mean they or anyone else should be able to quit their job so that they can then get rehired in order to get a 75% raise. No one can argue that teachers do not make enough money. But no one goes into teaching to make big bucks.  No one tricked them into thinking they were ever going to make any more than they do. Teaching is a calling and most make huge sacrafices. Sucsessfull coaches do very well moving up to bigger schools with bigger expectations an bigger checks. I respect any coach who stays with a small school KNOWING thet they will hit that glass ceiling. Its an admirable choice and one that they should be proud of. The fact is the districts can not afford this practice.
this hits it on the head.  not a popular post, but a great post.
Plus you have Duke and UNC breathing down Rasheed's back. ;)
He's pretty solid, I'm thinking about going to watch them play Friday night, not sure yet. Who's your local squad Dove?
The 13-15(but if were allowed to be coached from the stands, 28-0) Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns, the meca of SETX basketball. ;) ;D ::)
don't be a jerk... they'd be 25-3  ;D
 18. ought to be an entertaining game.  I expect Nederland to win by 7-8 points.
Why? IF HF cut down on errors, control the boards on both ends, hustle on defense, intelligent substitutions, push the ball up the floor  instead of walking into their press; they have a good chance of making a good statement tonight.
HF already had their statement game against Silsbee.  I think Silsbee comes back and makes a statement of their own tonight.  I'm gonna say Silsbee wins big, 80-44.  And yes, I'll gladly come and eat some crow if i'm badly wrong.
fairly close, anyway :)
 21.
It was 0-0 at the end of the game. I left after that, and heard in the 2nd OT Vidor scored 3 goals pretty quick.
that's pretty crazy!  nice win for the pirates!
