6.
Where did the Trippletail come from???? thats your best fish.....
it was a bolt out of the blue.  12 lbs, and i was shocked to get it in on my light trout rig.
7.
What a haul! Are those smacks at the top of the picture?
yup.  we could've caught our full limit of 45 if we'd wanted, but we got distracted by the trout.
8. we also had a 14 inch trout get eaten by a 5-foot bull shark about 5 feet from the boat, and he managed to hook himself.  my buddy fought him for half an hour and i got some video of him up to the boat before he broke off.

14.
Putting the boat in the water Sunday.  I was planning on launching at the public launch on Sabine Pass.  The one that you turn left at the four-way to get to.  Does anyone know if the launches are clear to launch.  I saw they had the Umphrey launches closed a few weeks ago because they were full of seaweed.
launched out of umphrey Thursday night and it was clear.  not sure about SP.  probably fine.  i didn't see ANY hyacinth in sabine lake when we were there.
15. were gonna put in under the bridge yesterday and it was still way too choked with hyacinth.
16. private piers help a lot!  on a whole, the fishing hasn't been as good this year as last year, with the exception of under the birds for a few days on Sabine.  i can't speak for everyone, but it's been that way for me.  and i've done a LOT of fishing this year.
17. PNG did a good job of replacing quality with quality.  considering the small amount of experienced soccer coaches in the area, that was a heck of a feat.
18. I'm not a rockets fan, but i'm not sure about this deal.  he's a defensive liability, and he turns the ball over a lot.  he's an exciting player, but it seems like defenses figured him out and turned him into a run of the mill PG after those first 2 weeks.  we'll see.  hopefully it works out for the rockets.
19.
Gonna wet a hook offshore Sunday if anyone interested. PM me..... won't be back from Califonia till Thursday night late, but will get back to anyone interested Friday.
one of only three weekends all summer i can't go.  i'm in on the next one, hopefully.
20. [img][Hidden Content]] It wasn't hot and heavy, but this time i got my slam in one trip.
21. saw several crabs.
22. that was the only calm spot on Keith Lake.  and the fishing sucked too, besides that big boy.
23. [img][Hidden Content]] got my slam, it just took an extra trip :)
24. don't catch many reds out there, but the flounder were between 17-19 inches, except for one.  that was NICE!
