Age Limits For Political Office - Part 2
bullets13 replied to DonTheCon2024's topic in Political Forum
yup, would love to see it. Would also love to see driving tests implemented every 3-5 years once drivers hit a certain age. -
I think it's great. They made the culture and policies, now they can stew in them.

I used to go to smoaky some to get scores and stuff. It was just set up poorly in my opinion. Cluttered, and not as many forums. Just kinda felt like everything was thrown in together. Of course I haven't been on there in a few years years probably. Edit: just went and looked and their site is basically set up like ours now. I remember going before and there were only a few forums with all kinds of random stuff piled in them.

You seem to have a problem with it. Isn’t it weird how that works?
-
I have a college degree. My wife has two. We don’t have school loans because (you’re not going to believe how this works) we paid them off. Early. There’s a certain irony in you making a post where you admit to being too ignorant to know how your loan works out of one side of your mouth while insinuating everyone else is dumber than you from the other side because you have degrees. Some of these guys may not have degrees, but none of them paid $50k on a $27k loan without coming close to satisfying the debt, either.
-
That entire post and all you got was I misrembered how much your loan was for? I guess i shouldn't be surprised. Same question: while making more than $100K a year, why did you not pay extra on the loan and get it paid off?
-
This is a really interesting matchup of two teams who are better than they were last year who had suprising Week 1 wins against teams who appear to be much worse than last year. Not really sure how to pick this game.
-
you make over $100K a year and you've been praying to God to erase a $10K debt that you realistically should be able to pay out of your savings account today without even feeling it? I'm just having a really hard time understanding your financial situation, and your fiscal priorities. And I ask again, since you ignored it the first time: why didn't you pay even a little extra on this loan a month over the years and get it paid off? Your refusal to do that doesn't obligate the taxpayer to foot the bill because you have "paid enough on it". Normally I wouldn't insert myself in someone else's economics, but you inserted us yourself, then decided we need to mind our own business and get over it.

Would feel a lot better about making a pick in this one had Newton and Anahuac gotten to play. Definitely an interesting matchup

Hamshire-Fannett (35) @ Lumberton (20) - FINAL

Sure. I picked Lumberton to win, but said if I’d known about the injuries I would’ve picked HF, and mentioned Ward in this thread as well. Health played a big part of it. I’m excited to see what HF is going to do this year. QB play is encouraging -
San Augustine (36) @ Hemphill (20) - FINAL

I was surprised at how bad they got, and how quickly after being so solid for years. Glad to see y’all bouncing back. I stop in SA for snacks and to use the restroom every time I go to the deer lease, and one of my favorite games in high school was at SA -

For sure. And it was deserved. They were the better team. Nothing flukey about this win -

Kept my momentum up from last here. Hopefully I keep it going -
Orangefield (9) @ Bridge City (26) FINAL

Nah, I didn’t care who won. The score algorithm thing glitched when I input the score and it read something like #%ref 26, #%ref 9 when I updated. I was just making a joke alluding to that -

Hamshire Fannett at Lumberton

Didn’t get on much this week. This one was a tossup in my mind, so I gave L-town the edge at home. Had I realized ward wasn’t playing I probably would’ve picked HF. Still a great win to start the season for my Horns -
