I was at the playoff game last year and was impressed with the Indians but thought they abandoned the inside game which wound up costing them the ball game.The HJ/Silsbee rivalry always prepares those two teams for the playoffs.

Angie and Yoshika were 2 completely different type of players but if you flipped a coin you couldn't go wromg with either girl.They were both the type players you would love to build a team around.

In playoff basketball coaching is worth a 10 point swing and Silsbee gets the edge there.

Certainly a cheap shot.That young lady should be through for the season.

I didn't write it down but it was Evadale by a butt load.

This game wasn't as close as the final score.This is the first time this year I've seen the Sharks and to be honest I was disappointed.This club has several senior ballplayers but doesn't play team basketball.They repeatedly tried to penetrate the zone with the dribble and force shots in the first half.I thought McGallions ability to break down the defense and pass the rock was the difference in this one.Spurger is the clear favorite now in this district and Sabine Pass and Evadale will be closer than I thought it would be.

But the broadcast was outstanding  ;D ;D

Gotta disagree with ya on this one Lazeek.I knew Silsbee would win this one but Spurger and Legacy aren't even close to being the same caliber team this season.I think this game was more beneficial to the Pirates than the Tigers.They won't face anyone close to this the rest of the year.

The head coach did take a team to the 2 round last year but I would not call that CONSISTANTLY. You had me going untill this post ??? [/quote]Just FYI I probably have watched EC more over the last 8 to 10 years than you have.I watched Chris Joseph,Preston Guillory,Tramain Thomas and both McDonald boys more than I care to remember and Coach Andrews was on the bench most of the time.So yea I would say he has won consistantly.

Thanks new school,you took the words right out of my mouth.I have watched EC for years and Coach Andrews and Coach Hargraves both consistantly did a great job year in and year out.They always played Kountze tough even though I always felt like Kountze had the better overall club.Fact is they know the game and how to get the most out of their players.Coaches want to win more than anyone so they will put the best players on the floor which isn't always popular with the mommas and daddies.

He deserves them,he quietly goes about doing his job and has for sevral years now.

Not bad for a club Dickie V said wouldn't even be competetive.

It all depends on which SP club shows up.The Sharks should win this one easily and need to start putting some good games together because they start counting on friday.

A lot of the kids don't realize the total package it takes to play at the D1 level.I really believe Roman Walker would have been a legitimate D1 prospect had he not injured his knee last year.He could have developed in to a 3 guard because he could handle the ball real well,play great defense and shoot the mid and long range jumper pretty well.Devin plays good defense but will have to work on his ball handling and will have to develope an outside shot if we plays at the D1 level.

I saw the EC club at the HJ tourney lose to Huntington,LCM and look very mediocre in a couple of wins.If that's the good EC they are in trouble.

This will be a good game to get Spurger ready for the district and playoff grind.They won't see another club with this amount of athletisism the rest of this year.If they stay out of foul trouble I think it will be a 20 point ballgame.I'm goinglike this. Silsbee-85 Spurger-65

It will definitely fire up folks as long as the team that does the deed gets back on defense.In the games where Kountze lost to HJ the Lions were caught celebrating while the Hawks pushed the ball and scored on the other end.

This one won't resemble any of the recent years.Kountze is a little better than they have been the past couple of years and EC is down a little. Kountze-92 EC-52

Devin probably needs to go to a good JUCO to not only work on parts of his game but also to mature.I'm not surprised that Lamar is recruitng him however but they haven't done a very good job recruiting lately.You only have to look as far down the LU bench as Ashton to see the difference in the game at these levels.Hall was a great high school player with all the tools but even before the injuries he struggled on the D1 scene.

No need to apologize to me infamous, I don't have a dog in this fight ,just an observer.The Sharks are gonna have to get some consistancy or they could be subject to an upset any night.Not to mention a very short post season stay.I've said it since last summer,this club has a ton of potential but you have to play to your potential or your just another club.I hope they do reach their potential because I enjoy watching them and even supported them last year when they played Normangee in the playoffs.

I think you missed the point of my post.It wasn't only about fresh legs but the overall ability of the players.EC has about 8 players with pretty equal abilities.They simply don't have a stand out offensive guy that can carry the club.I think that's why the coach is working the line up like he is,to be able to stay aggressive on the defensive end where he gets most of his points.EC's strength this year is their coaching staff,they will take them as far as possible withe the talent they have.I think that will be the 3rd playoff spot which would be a successful season for this group.

Hate to lose him but he deserves everything he gets.Had the opportunity to visit with his mom and dad last year at the doctors office.Really nice down to earth folks.

Maybe the coach has been watching film  ;D ;D
