I haven't seen a game plan out of the Sharks over the last 2 seasons.They have enough talent as a group to win some ballgames but they continue to play 1 on 5 with whoever gets the ball forcing the issue.I don't see Spurger losing a game in district and SP will have to step it up to split with Evadale.If the Sharks go in to the playoffs as the 3rd seed it will be a short post season run for them.They are a lot better than they are showing and are running out of time.They need to start looking at the schedule and playing 32 minutes one game at a time.They have a tendacy to start slow and turn it up late and it's killing them.Come on Sharks,turn it up so SE Texas can get behind you.

I gotta see what the spread is gonna be on this one before I make my pics.I will say this,it will be single digits either way and will be for the 3rd playoff spot in this district.

I thought the same thing Bucs but I would give Southerland a slight edge on experience.

I Usually agree with you Dawg but I don't see this one being near this close.The Yates club I saw earlier this year on ESPN would beat Memorial by 20.Cleveland played Memorial tooth and nail and they aren't in the same league as Yates.

This may be Chesters first win of the year.I saw them earlier this season and didn't think they would win a game.The Goodrich folks aren't used to this.

I never had much patience with my boys and grades.There is no excuse for that.It all comes down to priorities.You gotta hit the books and you know which ones are in danger these days when the progress reports come out.You have to really feel for the ones that are working hard on and off the court and the team is what's going to suffer.

Surely we're not naive enough to think this is a legit 4-a school that abides by all UIL rules ::) ::)

I think that was his point.You give Coach Foster the players SP has and they get good pretty quick.

Evidently Westbury decided not to let Yates break the 100 point barrier.That may be a moral victory for them but you can't blame Yates for wanting to score.Most of those kids are playing for a free ride to school so they have to shine when given the opportunity.I stll say their are ways to keep clubs from scoring 100.You simply have to make them make the decision if the price of running it up is worth what it's going to cost them.If so ,roll it out there and let em play.

I've watched Walker for years and he would definitely be a good #1 pick to build a team around.Brey has a tremendous up side but isn't the kind of player you would build around.The Ricossa kid from HJ is another one I would take in a heart beat.If you're gonna build a team you need kids that understand the game and watching Ricossa is like having another coach on the floor.I would take Sutherland as my coach but Duane wouldn't last long on a draft board either.

I didn't get to make this one recruiter but your game summary is exactly what I saw out of the sharks in Spurger last week.They don't play team basketball and they don't have the individual talent to win by not playing together.That's a shame because as a group they could be pretty good.

There are ways to keep clubs from scoring that many.I think the clubs they are playing are responsible for the scores.Slow the game down, let the air out of the ball,trip the breaker , whatever it takes but don't try to run with these rascals.You're not gonna win that battle.

This team is only a true PG away from being one of the best Kountze teams in several years.They have some folks playing out of their natural positions but they are doing a good job.

I can see a total changing of the guard coming in Beaumont hoops.

It should be about the season.I enjoy football as much as anyone but I'm not gonna post about the off season program. ::)

Brandi McCain was probably the best to ever play from this area.Carol Sims was the best I ever saw personally(and I saw her alot).Most people don't know it but she averaged over 30 points a game in a 4 year high school career and is the second leading scorer all time at Lamar.If they would have had a 3pt line back in those days no one would have ever came close.She could pull up and shoot the 20 foot jumper as pretty as anyone,guy or girl, I've ever seen.

Bernsen was as good a PG as I've seen.Not a dominant scorer but could sure pass the rock.The girl from Goodrich(her name escapes me) but she set every modern day scoring record for a high schooler.I saw her as a freshman and she could go.

Just wonder what everyones thoughts are on this.I'm all for kids signing to play college ball if it's going to help parents pay for those college expenses.The simple truth however is there isn't a lot of money out there for most JUCO players and practically none for a D-3 signee.I never have been a fan of kids transferring schools in pursuit of a scholarship because usually it's a lost cause.Too many kids on signing day sign to play at anywhere U only to be back home in the spring.Most kids are alot better off  enjoying being a good solid high school player rather than jumping campuses in search of a scholarship.What do ya'll think?
