New Waverly has a pretty good coach and always has some talent.They are usually an undisciplined ball club that gets in trouble in the playoffs against ball control type clubs.I don't see them beating Kountze this year, the Lions are very experienced and will play the same type game NW does only they will be better at it.

Young hits a 28 ft hook shot at the first half buzzer.He finished the first half with 30pts after not scoring until midway thru the 1st.We don't have anyone locally that can play with these guys I don't think.

Yates is putting on a show.Up by 28 1:00 before half.Young has 28 points in the first half.The pressure they put on the ball is unreal.

Come on man.The issues you talked about earlier go a lot deeper than Stappert.He is a solid guy and a pretty good coach.I haven't seen where West Sabine has been unstoppable as some folks predicted.Usually when folks go jumping from program to program both programs struggle.Brookeland has a pretty good tradition and they will recover eventually,the kids that bailed on the program will be the ones that lose in the long run.Sad situation for all involved.

If SA runs with them Kountze will win by 15.

If the Sharks were losing to powerhouse big schools I might agree with you but they aren't very consistant right now.Spurger is the better club(in district)but will need guys healthy to advance very far in the playoffs and Evadale is the 3rd place club.

What happened to EC??? I knew Orangefield would be a close ballgame but 37 points is a pretty tough outing.Do they play HJ for 3rd???

I have been surprised at the members of this district so far.Evadale has been the biggest surprise to me.I had them picked 4th and they are better than I thought they would be.Spurger has been hit by the injury bug and that has kept them from being as good as they can be.They still get the nod as the favorite but they will need to get healthy to make a playoff run.They can be a serious threat to win the region if healthy.I wouldn't call the Sharks a phenomenal club, they have some potential but they haven't been very consistant with big losses to Nederland,Vidor and CHSA.The loss that really puzzled me was the one to Deweyville.The SP club I saw last year would beat Deweyville I believe.I haven't seen any of the other clubs but if history is any teacher I think HD will be decent.

Every year when you look at Todds clubs you say "well they will be down next year".And then they win 25-30 games on their down years.Only the folks in the 4 schools you mentioned know how lucky they are to have had him.Congrats coach on one of many career milestones.

Both of these clubs are very hard to read.They look like they have some potential in spurts and the next time you see them you wonder how they have beaten some of the clubs they have.One thing is certain, it is very hard to beat EC at home.

A very well deserved honor for a very good official.When you walk in a gym and see Joe in the crew you know regardless of the outcome of the game the kids will decide it.Thats all any player,coach or fan can ask.

Shooting form is an art that is learned from hours and hours of repetition in the gym.Most kids now have so much more to do that they won't put in the time it takes to become a pure shooter.It sure makes you appreciate a pure shooter when you see one.

I'll look forward to it.I've been in the Lions Den more times than I care to admit and it is a tough place to play.EC used to have some success there but they had McDonald on the block,Joseph on the wing and a kid named Thomas breaking the press in those days.

I think WOS gets the 3rd spot.I can't figure O-field out.They have gotten beat in back to back games by Sabine Pass and EC.That doesn't bode well for a club tryng to make the playoffs in a 3-a district.I saw some earlier O-field threads where folks wanted the 2nd team all distict players and the newcomer to get more touches and with Hayes out they should be getting them.The results haven't been to pretty.They have a good coach so that should help them.
