1. Both of these clubs are very hard to read. They look like they have some potential in spurts and the next time you see them you wonder how they have beaten some of the clubs they have. One thing is certain, it is very hard to beat EC at home.
2.
I keep telling y'all Hamshire Fannett is going to be in the forefront by 2011-2012.
It's hard to decline from where HF has been  ;D ;D ;D
3. A very well deserved honor for a very good official. When you walk in a gym and see Joe in the crew you know regardless of the outcome of the game the kids will decide it.Thats all any player, coach or fan can ask.
4. Shooting form is an art that is learned from hours and hours of repetition in the gym. Most kids now have so much more to do that they won't put in the time it takes to become a pure shooter. It sure makes you appreciate a pure shooter when you see one.
5. I'll look forward to it.I've been in the Lions Den more times than I care to admit and it is a tough place to play.EC used to have some success there but they had McDonald on the block,Joseph on the wing and a kid named Thomas breaking the press in those days.
6. I think WOS gets the 3rd spot.I can't figure O-field out. They have gotten beat in back to back games by Sabine Pass and EC.That doesn't bode well for a club tryng to make the playoffs in a 3-a district.I saw some earlier O-field threads where folks wanted the 2nd team all distict players and the newcomer to get more touches and with Hayes out they should be getting them. The results haven't been to pretty. They have a good coach so that should help them.
7. Yep the Tigers take this one in a stroll.Brookeland,Warren and Colmesneil are all down this year and I haven't seen Corrigan,Splendora or Shepherd but they won't be able to play with the Tigers.
8. I'll stop by and hollar at ya.I always go to the Woodville tournament and usually spend the day.It gives me a chance to check out some of the clubs I may not otherwise see.And it's only a couple of blocks from my office .Who all is in it this year??
9. Cleveland has 3 that would be on anyones list. The big kid down low and the twins that play in the backcourt.I didn't call them by name because I don't know them that well but I have seen them play several times over the last 2 seasons.
10. I feel like a rookie :( :( Thanks for all the hard work you put in recognizing the kids with your broadcast.I try to go to a game every Tuesday and Friday somewhere but it is enjoyable to listen to your broadcast if I have to work late and get hung up.
11. That's probably their biggest concern.Hopefully they can get their 2 kids back that got hurt and the kids that have filled in will benefit from the playing time. The depth isn't near as big an issue at the 1-a level as it is the 3-a level.I believe this group has the potential to be as good as the team that played BS in the regional final a couple of years ago. What do you think about the kids I was talking about as someone who saw them play this season and last summer?
12. Evadale must be a little better than I thought they would be.
13. I don't think he played but 1 season in college.I heard he just decided he had played enough, not sure if thats true or not but I do know he could flat out shoot the long ball.He didn't get a lot of recognition early in high school because he bounced back and forth between a couple of campuses.
14.
and just what kind of statement are you talking about? ;)
I'm not saying that the game will be real close but I do think the 3 kids I mentioned will get some respect from the Tiger faithful. These boys will have a legit shot at going to Austin from the 1-a classification.I gotta tip my hat to them for even scheduling the Tigers. And their young coach may be the best kept secret in SETX.
15. I thought I knew a little about basketball now I'm not sure.I know Walker or Brey won't play a post position in college. They both are about the size to play a 3 but their ball handling skills will have to improve to play for any of the mid majors.Just because a kid is 6'6" doesn't mean he can play even at a D-3 school.Look at the Whitmire kid next time you watch Buna(he's the coach now)he was an exceptional high school player. And played at ETBU for 4 seasons,a small D-3 school. You will be amazed at the talent level at even the smallest of these colleges. If you've never been in the Lions Den in a district game you are in for a eye opening experience.Heck I'll come down that night and buy you a coke without the points.
16.

I'll agree with the first part of that statement but we'll have to agree to disagree on the second part.I think Whisenant shots the ball well and makes very good decisions with the ball at crucial times of the game. That must be a nice problem to have debating on 2 players who are definitely top 10 and which 3rd player should be top 25.The Lions are a true PG away from being something special at the 2-a level.
I agree, But look at they are doin without a true PG lol
Yea but just think if they had someone like Coffey
Whsalum where would you rank the three from spurger if at all. McGallion - 35 out 52 three's 80 assists in 11 games(IMOP) best true PG in the area. ;D Whittaker-10 for 15 threes, avg around 20 points a game, sorry but not sure about the rebounds and block shots, should be in the teens in rebounding. Blankenship has missed a few games but around 25 out of 40 threes and double digits in rebounds.
Court Side I haven't gotten to see them yet this year but I saw them alot in the past and all 3 of them can flat out play.I don't go to much just by stats because sometimes they can be padded by playing lesser teams. All 3 of the kids you mentioned would definitely gets some looks on a top 25 list.Blankenship can shot the 3 with anyone in the area and George would be a coaches dream at the 3 spot.If he works on his ball handling skills he will be better than either one of his brothers and that's saying something.Chase improved drastically as the year went on last year and could make a staement when they play Silsbee later this season. If Coach Issacs brings these kids along like I think he will they have a legit shot at playing in the drum this spring.
17. If Trey would have wanted to continue his career he could have played in a lot of places. One of the best pure shooters I've ever seen.
18. I don't know about dominating anyone but if Hunter Davis comes back and is able to play Hardin gets ALOT better. The kid could flat out play as a sophomore and I'm sure he has matured and gotten stronger.I hope for his sake he gets at least 8-10 games his senior season.
19. Walker and Brey both play way above the rim at 6'2".No knock on the kid from EC but lets not try and make him something he's not.Carrington will be more of a thorn to the Lions because of his athletisism but they will both score at will even on him.I can see the Lions winning the district matchups by at least 30.
20. I think they lost all but one. They hustle and play hard but have no size what so ever and younever know who will score for them.Looks like in this one no one did.

23. EC will win this one if O-field doesn't get their shooter back.If they do it will be close with the home team getting the nod.
24. How did they do in the tourney??
25. I said a top 25 AAW.I think McDaniel is playing out of position which has made him inconsistant shooting the 3.Whisenant has done the little things that you have to have to win which is why I mentioned him.I probably got off topic with the 25 observation but you are right on about Walker and Brey being top 10.
