He would have a stroke.I think they have moved the defibilator inside just in case Cris has a stroke.I've been surprised at this group,they haven't seemed like they wanted play.As a group they are small but the could have played some pretty good defense if they would have put the work in.Hopefully the young kids will realize you have to get in the gym if you want to be competetive.

That was one of the things I was disappointed in when Spurger played SP.The crowd wasn't as big as some I've seen in the past for these type matchups.

I'd have to send Warren to the principles office with a tardy slip.They just haven't showed up this year.I knew going in they would struggle big time with Kountze and Anahuac but I thought they would play hard and play everyone else close in district.They just haven't played with much heart the games I've seen.

I think he meant AAW and he was picking the spread not the winner.There is a huge difference,it can be awful hard to beat some clubs by 25.

I was talking about pressure defense and I'll take quick guards any day of the week on the press.Big slow kids usually play back on these kinds of defenses.I've saw EC play quite a bit and they are going to be in the hunt for the 3rd playoff spot,whoever wins tomorrow night will get the last spot,but wins over Warren and Buna doesn't convince me the Bucs are a top notch club.I never saw the same kid step up 2 games in a row so I really don't know who they have that can score.I did notice in some of my game notes that Green could shoot the 3 ball and was pretty good off the drive.

Zay is a true shooting guard but if Davis is healthy he is a better PG.He handles the ball and makes better decisions with it.I hate that the kid got hurt 2 years in a row because you could tell as a sophomore he was gonna be very good.

I gotta give the kid some props.I don't think Hardin beats Anahuac or comes close to Kountze with a healthy Davis but I think he would have been the best PG in the district IF HE WAS 100%.That would be a good thread,who would have been better ????

The spread is way to generous on this one, EC by 20 is a stretch.I don't follow you TrueBlue on the sub to keep the pressure on with Carrington(injured) and Dunnigan(good rebounder, not such a good scorer or defender).If I want to keep up pressure on the ball I want guards to pressure the basketball and you're not gonna get that out of Carrington and Dunnigan.The game is dead even but I gotta go with Hardin to cover.

Had to work late but would love to get your take on a Cleveland/Kountze warm up game.I believe it would be a great ballgame and would prepare both clubs for the playoffs.I've seen some comments that the Lions couldn't hang,I believe it would be well worth the price of admission.

I'll take the 3 players from Spurger in the positions I mentioned as well just like anyone else would who knows the game.

They scored 70 points a game early in the season playing a VERY weak schedule and now are reaping the consequences of doing so.To answer your question,there is nothing wrong with Tarkington they are just playing clubs that are better than they are. ;) ;)

Every team should be lucky enough to have Joe Whitted call their games.Especially the playoff type games,he is simply one of the best.I have given officials my share of grief over the years but OLDREF deserves not only our thanks but more importantly our respect which these young posters could learn some pointers on.I'll be the first to say it,my kids are all through the playing days but THANKS JOE for all the times you called their games.

I don't see EC winning by 25 unless the Bucs dads call the game.There isn't much difference in these 2 clubs and neither has enough inside game for officials to make a difference.The game will be won or lost by whoever gets the best guard play and doesn't turn the ball over.I'm thinking it will probably be a 5 point game but not sure which way I'm leaning yet.If it was in the old gym I'd say EC but I don't think they have the same advantage yet in the new one.

High school basketball is ALL about matchups and Evadale doesn't match up well at all with Spurger.The pirates have a decided edge at the point,in the paint and at the shooters hole.I think the rebels are a lot better than I thought the would be after seeing them earlier this season bu they aren't within 10 of the pirates.They could however easily edge the sharks out for 2nd in this district.

Careful AAW, I saw Sam Houston a couple of times this year and while their crowd was down (it was during the break) their club was pretty dog gone good.I have watched LU for years but they are gonna have to make some huge strides to beat the bearcats this year.

Lots of familiar last names in that EC group but Woodville still wins the matchup.

I hate to hear about the injury HOSS, that's tough because it's impossible to win at any level without a solid PG.That's where it all starts.

I think Woodville picks up the ticket to Austin again this year.EC is good but they haven't improved much over last year.Woodville still will have problems winning it all because they depend on their defense to score and the clubs in the final 4 won't turn it over much.For the Lady Eagles to win it all they will have to develope a go to type scorer on the offensive end but that's all they have been missing the last couple of years.Good luck to both EC and Woodville when the playoffs start.

My thoughts exactly.

I watched Yates destroy the previous Alabama 5-a state champ.I think you hit the key with depth.When Yates brings their second group in they don't miss a beat and the pressure is relentless.Young is one of the best 3 ball shooters I've seen in a while and his range is just sic.I don't see this one being a single digit ballgame.If both clubs play their best Yates by at least 15.

A loss to a very average Texas State club at home is not a good omen for the cards.They will be home come tourney time. :( :(
