  1. A-Freakin-Men!
  2. He didn’t tell me anything.
  3. Everything y’all are saying is true. I’m just trying to make the point that a good and accomplished coach will probably have a better chance of bringing ALL facets together (scheme, kids, community) to have a successful program (not just team) that starts at the Junior High level and works its way up.
  4. I’m with baddog. This crap is fixed! Lol.
  5. Hell, Hagar, I still don’t understand it!
  6. I hear ya, but when was the last time that happened? Respectfully, I don’t think it’s the same as it used to be. I know 80% of the varsity parents. That may be a thing of the past.
  7. Could not have said it better. Exactly what I was going to respond. (Except for the “Debbie Downer” clip - that was icing on the cake).
  8. What kind of athletes do they have coming up? Don’t you think a great coach would have the ability to figure that out and put in whatever best suits his athletes?
  9. Went last year and year before. 2 in a row.
  10. I think he was successful too. Sometimes you’re limited by your budget (ability to grow your facilities, your assistants, your Junior High program), and you may also be limited by the athletes you have in your stable. No doubt he grew the program overall. But he gone. Let’s take steps forward and not backwards.
  11. So should we lock down forever?
  12. So are you saying you either have it or you don’t, and small unsuccessful programs should quit trying to win? I disagree. I’ve never been one to give up or accept the status quo. Anything is possible. You just have to change the culture.
  13. That’s because rarely do programs like that invest in a coach like that.
  14. Lol. What does Blue Link mean?
  15. Lmbo. Yep. I didn’t say it was going to happen. I’m saying it’s what should happen.
  16. Why? Or do you have anything to back any of your statements up? My guess is no. Certainly you are the Snowflake by posting this inconsequential topic in the first place.
  17. I had 3 head coaches in 4 years in Lumberton.
  18. It doesn’t matter. Unless they find a game changer, they’ll be looking for another in a few years.
  19. Personally, I’m not crying about it. Life will go on. But if anyone believes that there’s nothing funny going on, then stick your head back in the sand, I guess.
  20. So increase the stipends and go get you some coaches.
  21. 1000% Agreed. The only caveat is (as you stated) they gotta hire someone who, if given the chance, can bring the program full circle. I don’t believe that will be achieved by finding a low rent guy who had “some” success in district at a 2-A school. It needs to be a guy who has experience, tough standards and thick skin.
  22. That’s the operative word. They could, but they won’t.
