  1. 1..While I don’t disagree with your coaches vs athletes statement, I’m saying why settle for one or the other. It’s not a choice you have to make. Have both. 2. I think the markers make prettier pictures. I’m sticking with the markers. Plus they’re scented.
  2. No reason for insults. I didn’t miss the point. I’m saying it takes all 3 to be the best. Besides, I’ve graduated to washable markers.
  3. Give me a team with great players and a great coach and a great community, and I’ll beat your well coached average players every time though.
  4. More of a combination. Community has just as much to do with it as anything; For instance, PNG's community spirit is what allowed them to spend thousands of dollars to hire Dodge to even go find a great coach. Without the right school board and community, that ain't happening in the first place... And I'm not a PNG guy, but I recognize one of the finest football communities in the nation when I see it.
  5. Agreed, but what if they DO match your uniform and the other team's uniform too? Still got a problem...
  6. Field a team with a good coach but the kids are slow, all Freshmen, unintelligent and possibly mentally disadvantaged. How much winning will that coach do? Now I understand that’s a stupid example, but it’s just to serve as an exploded view. You gotta have a combination of coaching, kids & community which includes parents and administration. It takes all 3.
  7. Gonna take more than an inspirational passage for Beaumont to “Get it figured out”.
  8. It is a fact. A fact, mind you, that it takes more than just a good coach to win. I can prove it.
  9. Yeah, and they sing songs in the dugout too. Apples and oranges.
  10. Even more. Let’s say you’re wearing Plain Jane white gloves and the other team’s jerseys are white. Happens all the time.
  11. I'm afraid that's just not the first thing that comes to mind for me...
  12. Your first word answered the question though. It looks like you believe (like I do) that potentially good athletes need good coaching, and with that combination comes success. And with that success comes the possibility of continued success, all things being equal. Who is to say that BC couldn’t have had the same success that WOS historically had were it not for the right coaches. They certainly had athletes. Look at their baseball programs over the years. So my point is that saying, “It is not fair to our kids to not have the best coaches we can get” is a little nearsighted. That statement goes for all schools. It certainly pertains to PNG. It could also apply to Nederland, WB, PAM, Lumberton… Take your pick.
  13. I was about to post the exact same thing, before I saw your post...
  14. Dude is being a crybaby. If he was from Alabama or even a neutral state, his ability to see injustice would be undeniably blurred.
  15. I went to the doctor for that... All cleared up. Even the rash is almost gone.
  16. Isn't that true for most/all programs? Yet that's rarely the case...
  17. Call it what you want. UNTIL they change the rules, it’s smart. So is teaching O lineman how to hold without getting caught. All good line coaches teach it.
  18. I wasn’t finding fault. Just making a funny comment.
  19. I know you’re not trying to win a popularity contest, and that post will certainly not help if you are. Lol.
