  1. In some places the Coach would be fired on the spot, and rightfully so. If you aren't coaching it, then you are letting it happen. Ultimately, the behavior of any player, especially on the field of play, is the responsibility of the coach and a direct reflection of the coach.
  2. I agree, it should be an honor that is earned. Too many coaches don't care, and they don't want to deal with the upset parents. Too many coaches don't care, and they don't want to go to the trouble of actually making a decision on who is better. Too many coaches don't care, and they don't want to upset coaches in their district by not voting for certain kids. Too many coaches don't care, and they think just because a kid was on the district championship team that he was the better player.
  3. I've seen defensive backs get beat worse on plays where they were paying attention. It wasn't like he was standing all by himself in the end zone with enough time to eat a sandwich before the defender got there.
  4. First question, is Lumberton an upper class, upper middle class or a lower middle class community? Not sure what the financial situation is in Lumberton ISD, but I would think they would be able to pay a coach better than they do. Second question. does the community just not support athletics as a whole, or is it the fact that historically they have been a baseball school and football is the red headed step child?
  5. It is far from being over. WOS showing life, if CS gets completely conservative WOS could turn this around.
  6. Turnovers, penalties, this one may get ugly in a hurry. Don't blame you.
  7. Turnovers, penalties, this one may get ugly in a hurry. Don't blame you.
  8. Still amazed that people actually think just because you run a variation of the SPREAD that you can't be a smash mouth, physical, downhill, ball control, power running football team. OH, and God forbid you actually throw the ball. I know some of you thing the forward pass is sacreligious.
  9. Nope, not saying that at all. Saying that Lumberton needs to invest in a Coach that understands the limitations and has a track record and a plan to overcome those limitations. As opposed to hiring a coach who has been in the best possible position for success like the coordinators at LT, Katy, Allen, etc.....
  10. So very true. Do those coordinators have to deal with: 1. Community and athlete "buy in" 2. Limited resources 3. Average to below average athleticism 4. Lack of commitment 5. Small, inexperienced staff etc........
  11. Yea, because those guys know how to take a challenged culture and turn it into a winning culture? Rarely, do guys like that turn around a program like Lumberton.
  12. Two-time defending state champions don't go down easily, especially when they have the two-time defending offensive and defensive MVP from those state championship games still on the field.
  13. Just curious, you talking about #65, #55, #14 or #51?
  14. Might have a chance? One common opponent right> Coldspring? Huntington 34 Coldspring 26 Trinity 8 Coldspring 48
  15. Transition from the spread to the slot-t has not been an easy one.
  16. Coldsprings most dominant player went out in the first quarter against Tarkington and did not return.
