  1. It is impossible to win in places like Tarkington unless you bring in a coach that is willing to stay for the long term. Theses places are not plug an play situations. A coach needs to be given time to establish a program, with expectations and trust, and develop his players his way.
  2. East Chambers (always) Orangefield Anahuac Buna Kirbyville Hardin Tarkington
  3. Anything new to report? Interviews started? Watching Lorena and Brock and I see many similarities to Liberty.
  4. Spot on with that assessment, IMHO, East Chambers was the better team and should have won the game. The lack of pressure on the QB did them in.
  5. Head Football/Athletic Director job is open Are they looking for a philosophy change?
  6. Coldspring by a bunch, Crockett is not tough enough physically or mentally to stand up to the pounding that Coldspring will bring. Could get ugly early.
  7. So Huntington has no chance to beat Westwood? Just asking, because if I remember correctly they put it on Westwood in Palestine last season.
  8. Diboll and Coldspring are the class of the District. Could easily see this ending in a 3-way tie for 3rd and 4th.
  9. Diboll and Coldspring are definitely the class of this district. Would expect the District Championship to come down to the head to head week 11 matchup.

  12. Nobody that wants to be any good in Athletics, especially football, asks a Head Football Coach/AD to teach.
  13. True, but there is almost always someone who has been or is desperate to be a Head Football Coach, that will drop everything and take an opportunity. Especially when there is a chance to be good, to very good. I know it is almost a month later, but a coach from a very successful larger school just dropped everything to take the Warren job.
  14. Ultimately, the question that leadership has to answer, is there anybody on staff that we trust to lead the program? Does H-D have a Superintendent?
  15. Wrong, the AD is an administrator on the same level as the Principal. Look at the flow chart, AD'S don't answer to the Principal.
  16. First tweet since 2019....... Not widely known or well respected. Should be an interesting hire.
  17. Unfortunately farm boy strength usually does not help you run faster, jump higher or be more explosive which are somewhat important in football, basketball, baseball and track.
  18. Somebody fast, athletic, capable of being an offensive weapon who can probably spin it a little bit.
  19. I can guarantee you one thing, there is only one way for WH to dig themselves out of the hole they have fallen into and that is to hire someone that will demand the kids (regardless of sport) get in the weight room.
  20. Very interesting, because he was the chosen one. Former PN-G offensive line coach that was hand picked by the Superintendent two years ago. They have had some success, I thought he had them trending in the right direction.
  21. I will never put down the coaches of another sport, never. And to be honest, yes an elite track and field coach has to be a master at a number of different techniques, especially in the field events and be able to train different athletes differently to ensure success. However, to put down football coaches and say track and field coaches have to do more coaching is completely asinine. The last time I checked the track or the pit didn't play defense. Or the opponents you were competing against weren't trying to score on you. Football coaches have to teach the same intricate techniques that track coaches teach, all while putting in a game plan against an opponent and including the factors of teamwork and collisions and opposing coaches planning to stop what you are doing. You are obviously not a high level football coach if you think track and field coaches have a more difficult job than football coaches.
