  1. Head Coaches do NOT leave schools after back 2 back 10 win seasons if they believe the talent is there to do it for a 3rd time in a row. You better be uber talented at every other position if you are starting a FRESHMAN QB at the 4A level or above. If not, then you are probably not set up for immediate success.
  2. Dayton could NOT have made a better hire. This could quite possibly take Dayton back to where they were with Stewart, a perennial playoff team with the potential to make a run. Very impressive after the last few "buddy" hires.
  3. Don't think Riordan is leaving a potential State Championship team in CH........
  4. East Chambers and Coldspring-Oakhurst are the two locks, I would assume. Anahuac, Kirbyville and Orangefield would be the second wave. Buna and Hardin would be bringing up the end, if I had to guess.
  5. You are misreading this topic. Not current, but former and very successful.
  6. I guess things in Crosby are really as bad as some have indicated.....
  7. Nothing wrong with being Coach A. Some coaches are bought in to the community they work for. They have a desire to be in that location for the long haul. These coaches develop and work differently that coaches that are on a short term lease situation.
  8. 2 kinds of successful coaches A. Get in when the talent is on an up swing, and GET OUT when you can B. Take a job and BUILD it into something SPECIAL then maintain that level of success by developing talent
  9. I think you have to continue to spread it out in Lumberton. Now, do they have some TE/H Back type kids that you can run a power/counter run game? I don't know, but I think you have to continue some semblance of what they have been doing offensively.
  10. Very well could, but they are going to have to put in a whole new offensive system. Reyes ran his system and called the plays. He was actually hiring an Offensive Coordinator before he left, so I really don't think they have anyone qualified on staff to run the offensive side of the ball.
  11. Now that, I can agree with. Baring injuries to some key components, LCM is the most complete team in this District. I will be interested to see how they staff is assembled though, losing Breaux may have an impact.
  12. Not disagreeing and not arguing. Vidor may very well win the District Championship. JMO and it is biased, I don't think they do.
  13. Game will be for the District Championship and it will be very evenly matched, IMHO. Edit: Depending on who Lumberton hires and who the OC/DC are......
  14. Never understood why everyone gives you such a hard time Brotha.........
  15. Good point. What is the better job, OC/DC in Navasota or HFC in Kirbyville? Probably depends on your career aspirations. As for me, I would probably prefer a coordinators job at Navasota.
  16. Hearing a guy on the line between bEAST Texas and SETX is in the mix, but it could just be a rumor.
  17. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they promote from within.
  18. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this job will be open again in 2 years.
  19. Apparently Dayton was not getting the the type of applicants that they desired, job was RE-posted on THSCA today.
  20. With John Launius on staff at Sterling??? Not a chance Lee is better coached.
  21. Unfortunately, Mark and his "Five Guys" have NEVER donated a dime to the Livingston program that I am aware of. Like so many, he has forgotten where he came from.
