Silsbee has brought the bonfire back after ending that tradition several years ago due to the Texas A&M incident. The bonfire was brought back last year but only our local volunteer fire department manages it now. They build it back behind the high school and burn it. Have a fireworks display also. Great tradition that I am glad was brought back. It's much better than what replaced it, a lame candle lighting thing in Tiger Stadium.

I am quite sure that the folks at SFA are smart enough to not have a "purple out" in a game with someone who has the color purple as their team colors. ;)

Silsbee      3 West Brook  1 These two played because Silsbee/WOS postponed their game. All of the Lady Tigers, fresh, jv and varsity, wore blue ribbons in their hair to honor Reggie Garrett.  Senior Co-Captain Katy Adams gave up her #8 jersey to wear the #12 jersey in Garrett's memory.

Wimbro, I just hooked you up with some applauds. The perks of being an admin, I can give multiple applauds and smites without having to wait. ;D

[/quote] I broadcast all of Silsbee's Friday night games and do the KFDM/CW Saturday games. We still do Vidor, Kirbyville and Newton broadcasts here on the site on Friday nights. The volleyball game between Silsbee and WOS for Tuesday night has been canceled. No word yet on when this game will be made up.

This is as good a piece as anyone has done so far on Reggie. Kudos to NBC's Today Show for not pointing the finger but being educational while being very sympathetic.

I haven't seen any bashing of Lamar's football team from any Cardinal fan. Just what are you reading, AJ25?

WOS has canceled their game this week with Giddings but they will play Kirbyville the following week, Oct. 2 @ WOS, per Coach Hooks. The Mustangs will not practice this week but the players and coaches will come back next Monday to prepare for Kirbyville.

The Silsbee Tiger football team will wear #12 decals on their helmets starting this Friday night in the homecoming game against Jasper and for the remainder of the season. Other tributes will take place that night as well.

ET is clueless. Only bash ET, not BC sports. You only see me comment on softball and volleyball threads that have ET involved. Find a football, basketball or baseball thread that has me bashing those teams. Sorry, you won't find any.
