1.
Haha......awfully touchy this morning!!! ;D ;D I can think of 5 for HJ...........Turner, Venable, Gustafson, Anderson (who has broken arm) and Persohn.
I know Turner and Gus are basketball starters, Venable maybe too. Is Anderson and Persohn potential starters? I know the first 3 start for the football team, do the last 2 start?
 2.
Are you making excuses that if Silsbee wins a few playoff football games that the Tiger hoop team may suffer for a while??? ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)
Always leave it to some HJ guy to try and read between the lines. ::) Silsbee had this many last year playing football and they started the year 11-1. Give it a rest. I was just wanting to see how many played football.

II playoffs.
Is that a yes, they should?
No it's not right. I was just saying it almost worked out for Waco LaVega. I care less who we play in the 1st. rd.
My question has nothing to do with who WOS or even Silsbee plays. I was asking if you are the coach of Coldspring, would you do it?
 4. I imagine this is more prevelant in 3A and down but just wondering how many you have playing football at your school. For Silsbee 6, 2 starters, 3 key reserves. All 6 of these players are starters on the football field.

 6.
They will not do it.  I believe they think they can get a big enough lead early and still be able to rest the starters.  How do you tell kids in high school that you want them to intentionally lose?
I agree.
 7. Saw some talk suggesting that Coldspring should intentionally lose their game this week to Liberty to allow Shepherd into the playoffs thus putting Coldspring facing Bridge City in the 1st round rather than WOS. This also would eliminate Huffman from making the playoffs and sending Cleveland to Div.I to face Silsbee in the 1st round instead of going DII and facing Bridge City. I honestly don't see the Coldspring coaches doing this and I imagine the Huffman and Cleveland coaching staffs would have a big problem with this also. But, it is food for thought. What are you guys opinions on this scenario? Should they, or shouldn't they?

Sir or Mam?..Actually AAU is played until kids graduate from h.s. which is about 18 yrs old..Little dribblers is usually played from 8 to 14 yrs old, with a few exceptions...The posters who talk about the universal off-season have a pretty good idea of what it does for the average h.s. basketball program...Which is not much..Most basketball coaches are looking for basketball players, not guys who look good in a mirror.
Lets get real honest here.  Universal Off Season is a code word for "Make em all football players because every other sport is secondary"   Thats fine if everyone is on the same page and the only priority is to make football a success.  However, if a school/coach/administration chooses to embrace the Universal Off Season approach, that school will definitely "pay the price" in other sports and it seems to be most evident in basketball.  The "Whats wrong with UOS, it will just make them bigger, stronger, and faster" theory sounds good but the results do not support the theory.  If the players need to lift weights, why not let it be done under the supervision of the primary sport coach?
AGREED!!!!
 9. Mactiger= DOMINATION!!!!!! ;D
 10. I can understand moving the game to this Thursday, but not next Thursday. Why do that? What are you really gaining from moving this game back a week?
 11. Actually Liltex is right. If Livingston and Lumberton get in the playoffs, then PNG will go Div.I and play either Crosby or GC Memorial depending on the outcome of their game with Central. PNG only goes Div.II if 2 of these 3 teams make the playoffs, Central, Nederland, and Vidor. Central is already in and with them being the largest school in the district, they go Div.I. Nederland and/or Vidor have to make the playoffs to send PNG to Div.II. PNG is the 4th largest school in the district. Like Liltex said, if Livingston, Ozen, and/or Lumberton replace Nederland and Vidor as playoff teams, PNG will go Div.I
 12. Wolfing down a burger from the Depot right now!!!! Good stuff!!!
 13.
We've lost two district games by a combined 8 points too!!!
How much did you lose the other one by? ;)
 14. But "just" winning the game wasn't the main objective. Winning by 9 or more points was. I believe Huckaby going for it both those times represented that he knew exactly what his team needed to do to get to the playoffs, not just win this game.

We have a lot of playoff scnenarios to talk about. ;)
Gosh you're no fun.
Well, I have no problem talking about poll question #2. #1, the BCS will work itself out. #3, just your way of getting tu in the conversasion. #4, who really cares about Romo. (but he does suck)

 19. I am with you on this one Gas. I think WOS facing Orangefield right before Coldspring will be very beneficial to the Mustangs. They should be well prepared.
