3. WVU wasn't the only school that recruited JJ for QB. Baylor, Michigan, Kentucky, TCU, along with many others wanted Jeremy at QB. I understand that Briles is still wanting JJ at Baylor to be his next QB. ;) Sleepy, like you said, I'll take those guys knowledge over these wannabee's on here. ;)

The Bucs (14-5) are coming off a 5th place finish in their own tourney this past week while the Lions (18-4) won the Tenaha tourney defeating West Sabine in the finals. Kountze defeated EC earlier this year at the HJ tourney, 82-79, and swept the district games last year. Both teams are currently 1-0 in district. Broadcast time will be 10 minutes prior to tipoff which is scheduled for 7:30pm. Just click the link to hear all the action. EAST CHAMBERS vs. KOUNTZE, LIVE here at SETXsports.com!!! [Hidden Content]
 7. bmrm, as much as I like seeing BADSANTA get it taken to him, I'll have to disagree with your statement that it doesn't matter if you make the playoffs if you don't win the state title. I have a hard time believing that all teams not winning the state championship is considered failures for that season. I just don't see how anyone can say an 0-10 team had the same failure as a 14-1 team. ;) Now, back to making SANTA look foolish. ;D
 8. Nope, have to go with the Dugat kid that played for Baylor.
 9.
Did HJ avoid West Brook this year?
I think it's the other way around. ;)
 10.

The Only reason HJ wins is because of the Ref's at there Place but we won't problem this year I can assure you tricks up OURSELVES............
Didn't they each win on the road last year?
Nope. Both won at home, then Silsbee won at Huntsville.
 11.
I know it is hard for you to see looking through those rose colored glasses!!! ;D ;D ;D
Just as hard as that chip you carry. ;) "Oh woe as me!"
 12.
FINALLY................. Some people are getting it.  This is what it has sounded like coming from several of the Silsbee faithful.  Glad you are finally opening your eyes to it!!!!! This is two good teams, both have great coaching staffs and quality players.  Both have tradition and experience.  Either team could win on either teams floor. Each city has their proud supporters and each has their idiotic supporters.............but the key is to be a realist and respect others as well!!!! Anxious for Jan. 14th to finally get here, and may the best team win!!!!
Respect? Hmmmm, take note. ;) BTW, just what has it sounded like? Not sure I understand your point.
 13.
Aggie is right! Silsbee has no chance of winning. Wishful thinking on our part. Hope HJ doesn't blow us out the gym.
See!! It is contagious!! I am just glad the HJ fans don't have this, "copyright 2011", after each post. Otherwise, we'd be in serious trouble. ;D
 14.
nah, one of that 7-10 team's wins came against HJ.  HJ better hope that DC's toe keeps bothering him, and also that Silsbee starts some jv players to get them experience.
HJ has not played West Brook this year. Reach somewhere else. ;)
 15. Silsbee struggled to beat a 7-10 team yesterday. Tigers have no chance of beating a 20-4 team (most likely a 22-4 team by Jan. 14), no chance. ST413 made it very clear. Silsbee will have to play it's best game and HJ will have to play down for the Tigers to have any chance at all. (this stuff is contagious) ;D
 16.
Now that I have internet service(for a moment anyway) out here in the hillb country I can give my two cents. I think all of you have this wrong. It has been established that HJ has: 1) the best coaches 2) three state titles 3) the best PG 4) the best shooter 5) the best freshman 6) more height and 7) the best cheering section. All we have is DC and athleticism. Therefore HJ is the 15-20 pt favorites!! :)
Excellant points. Silsbee has no chance. (HJ fans seem to be rubbing off on me) ;D
 17. I don't know how someone could claim that "everyone" thinks Silsbee is 15-20 points better than HJ. I have seen a couple of posters claim that, but those are your standard idiots. I certainly don't think Silsbee is 15-20 points better and I am as big a Silsbee fan as they come.
 18.
Carvin Holcombe played at TCU.
You are so right. It was another starter that went to Baylor. My bad.
 19.

The claim was Silsbee was a better basketball team by 15-20 points.  Then people were saying that HJ would still find a way to win.  What else can you get from those two statements.  That is the writing that is on the wall, I am just reading it.  If HJ still wins and Silsbee's team is a 15-20 point better team then would their coaches not be 15-20 points better?  That is simple logic.
Bottom line:  None of us, individually or collectively, is smart enough to quantify the difference between two teams.  The "15-20 pt difference " talk is simply that, talk.  My guess would be that, most of the time,  Silsbee will have the edge in athleticism and depth, and HJ will have the same from a basketball intellect standpoint( I am speaking of players as opposed to coaches)  Teams that have done as well as both of these teams are bound to have competent coaching staffs to get as far as they do on a consistent basis.  There is no way to "prove" that Mack Brown is a better coach than Bob Stoops or vice versa.
Out of all the posts made on this thread, this is the most inteligent post of them all. Great post Nash. Kudos to you sir.
 20. Record the last 4 years (these are the years that these teams have been in the same district)               HJ w's          Silsbee w's '07           2                     1 '08           2                     2 '09           1                     2 '10           1                     2 Over all, Silsbee leads 7-6 in that span. Tigers have won 5 of last 7 though. ;)
 21. To take a sarcastic "woe is me" line from the HJ regulars, "We Tigers just ain't that good, HJ is just too dang good for us to even get on the same floor as the Hawks". ;) That's how they can play with Silsbee.
 22. Silsbee did go to state last year. Lost in semis to Dallas Madison 67-63.
 23.
haven't been on here too much, is something wrong with DC?
He missed the last 3 games of the Woodville tourney nursing an injured toe. Injured it in the first half of the first round game of Woodville tourney. He tried to play today, but only lasted 3 minutes. He has played a total of 10 minutes clock time in the last 5 games for Silsbee.
