Freshman game starts at 11am, varsity should be around 1:45pm. DC Stallworth will start this game after missing the last 5 games. Coach Travis Williams will not be on the bench today. James Collins and Ira Brooks will handle the coaching duties.

I have seen Cleveland basketball as far back as the mid 70's, I have seen no other player from Cleveland that was as good as Craig Lillie. '6"6 wingman that could do it all. He was an awesome talent!

Two reigning district champions will do battle TODAY as the 23-3A Navasota Rattlers will take on the 21-3A, #7 state ranked, #1 SETX, #1 Beaumont Enterprise Silsbee Tigers at the Tiger Den at Silsbee High school. Navasota (9-5) is a perrenial Region III top team in 3A basketball and will come in to Silsbee off a 3rd place finish in the Rice Consolidated tourney. Silsbee (18-2) defeated West Brook, 69-63, back on Dec. 31, and has not played since. Actually, both teams are coming off an 8 day layoff. One slight correction to my previous post. The player is a 7th grader, not 8th. He will still have to comply next year to play basketball at Silsbee Middle School.

Very good post, speechless. I was told that the decision was made to allow the player to wear his hair as is because they were late in implementing the rule (week of 1st game) at the middle school. Next school year, the middle school will enforce the rule just like it is at the high school. The high school hair policy will remain the same but will be worded a little differently. The players coming from middle school to high school next year will have to comply with the rule to be able to play basketball. end of story.

There are more than just two players from this area that coach teams here in Southeast Texas. Travis Williams played for Kountze and his assistants, James Collins and Ira Brooks, played for Silsbee. Asst. coach Clay Davis of HJ played for the Hawks. Ben West is another player who now coaches. Also Brian English, Zach Quinn, Jason Henry, and a few others all played here locally and now coach teams here in Southeast Texas.

I saw that Melancon has taken down the messageboard over there. I also saw where he tried to access our site yesterday. The site is still up, but from what I can see, no messageboard. I knew once football was over (college and pro too) and basketball started up, that his site would crumble. ( though it never was anything to begin with) Also, his Lamar site is doing very badly of late. No one is posting over there, getting several spammers posting spam on the forums. Most if not all of their members post regularly on our Lamar forum. I believe in time, another one will bite the dust!

Neither has anything to do with performance, which you were pointing out. Third, did the West End care when the Bruins were winning (quarterfinals in 2001, regionals in 2000) or did they not care before? Is it safe to say that the West End doesn't care because West Brook is losing? Which is it, the chicken or the egg?

Why was it necessary to ask True Blue what team he supported? Can he not be affliated to any school and still have an opinion on BISD without being named a "hater"? Yes you have your opinion, but you don't want others to voice their's in regards to Butch and BISD. When someone posts a negative comment towards BISD (which there is plenty to post about) you don't combat with an arguement about the negative, you simply bash the poster for being a hater and want to know what school they support so that you can bash that school. You say it's jealousy, I say it's pointing out some negative facts. ;) Are there folks out there who just want to see BISD and it's administration fail? YES!! But there are also inteligent people who can read through the BS and see what's really going on. I have my sources as well within BISD, I have been privy to some things going on. I will not post on this any longer, I have gotten off topic and I apologize. Back to WOS/WB

I don't see where it's required to be from Beaumont or support Beaumont schools to have an opinion on BISD. Soulja, if you think this way, then you yourself should never post anything about any other school but the BISD schools. Don't bother posting the  ::) in the Silsbee hair policy thread. You live in Beaumont, support BISD, which has nothing to do with Silsbee. It doesn't matter if you have family or friends in Silsbee, you have no vested interest, like you are suggesting folks should have before they can comment on BISD. You simply are a hater as well in that regard.
