1. [Hidden Content] Lady Titans assistant Kevin Henry to be promoted to head coach.
 2.
So Ira gets the Silsbee job you think?
I expect Silsbee ISD to take applicants from outside as well. I would very much like for Ira to get the job, but we will see.
 3. Also, Silsbee assistant coach Ira Brooks has withdrawn his name for the girls job. In fact, Ira never applied for the girls job, only the boys job.
 4. According to several sources from within. [Hidden Content]
 5.
Sorry but it is hard to breathe when this concerns your child.  Third coach for my child since he has been in the program.  Bottom line is even when we have a good coach they manage to run them off.
I understand. Good luck to you guys over there.
 6.
I hear Splendora or Tomball is where the new AD will be coming from !  Funny same place the New Super is from ! Isn't that interesting.  And I am sure he will make more money than the current AD made just as the new super is making more than the Super who just retired and had been with the district for 25 years. What a joke, they tell the people they are doing this to save money to put more in the classrooms. Ha Ha ! As far as what Coach Colton said...... Well Said Coach ! I am glad someone finally decided to step up and speak for these kids ! Not once did anyone on that board consider what they have done to the Senior boys final year. Not once did they go sit down with their athletes and ask them one question.  Now they get to start a whole new program that was starting to take hold.  As usual, we just can't give anything time.  There is never any consistency in this school district due to parental involvement.  I am not talking about the good kind of involvement folks, I am talking about involvement in the sports programs that is detrimental to a sports program.  Hey if your kid doesn't start..... maybe he shouldn't start.  It is time to grow up and quit playing with this little league mentality.  Which is every kid plays and every kid gets a trophy.  That is not how life is and trust me Daddy isn't going to come save your jobs when you grow up.  Well,  unless you work for him.   Guys if you think you can do better go get your degree and get out and be a coach !!  I can't wait to see how the new AD reacts to these parents who think they know more about the game then the coaches do!  I hope he has thick skin because this town has a bunch of arm chair quarterbacks who are still living out their dreams through their kids.  Let these coaches coach these kids and stay out of it !! Also, on a side note....... the board continues to lie to the public about why Stewart left ! You really think he left for more money ?  Really an Assistant in Lumberton makes more than the head coach in Kountze ? The man left because he was afraid he was going to loose his job and he clearly stated in the paper that the Super could not give him an answer as to whether or not he had a job ! Now if you have a wife and kids aren't you going to leave ? I know I would, my family always comes first. Perhaps this new board who is for change should work on some educational issues.  After all, I don't care if we win district in every sport, if your kids can't score high enough on their SAT to get in a decent college than it is all useless.  Small Town politics aren't they the greatest ? ::)
Take a breath.
 7. East Chambers head basketball coach Daniel Andrews will be moving to an adminstrator job this coming school year. Kenny Hoffpauir will take over as head basketball coach for the Bucs. This is Kenny's second stint as head coach at East Chambers. He was an assistant this past season at EC. Good luck Daniel in your new job and welcome back Kenny!
 8.
I have no doubts silsbee would be fine and find a great coach.  I was just wanting some opinions or insights on if anyone knew if they were gonna leave or not.
I have been told from several sources that Travis is the frontrunner for the PAM job. But, that doesn't mean he will get it. As for Ira and the girls job, haven't heard much on that front. I should know something tomorrow afternoon when I go up to the Silsbee gym for the first day of the tourney.
 9.
Clearly, the school/booster club wanted someone to hit the ground running, as Kelly has 17 returning starters from last year.  Many of whom, are seniors.  There is not time to get a new system up and running, or have an outsider become familiar with his talent.  Hartsfield has run this system with these players before.  Also, he has worked closely with the Kelly program and is familiar with the school/athletic system within the Diocese.  Lastly, he still has many of the assistants from last year to help him out, should he get in over his head temporarily. Good choice for a program who's time is now.
Good point.
 10.
Beaumont Enterprise shows Williams is an applicant for Boys job at PAM and shows Brooks is applicant for Girls head job at PAM?  Where will Silsbee go if this happens?
That would be a very big blow to the program. This is a tough situation for Ira. He could be named the girls coach at the same time as Travis being named the boys coach at PAM. Would he say no in order to be in position to take the Silsbee boys job? Tough deal. As for Travis, Silsbee would miss him dearly, but you cannot expect him to not try and get jobs of that magnitude. I want Travis to stay, but I also want Travis to be happy and do what's best for him. The Silsbee basketball job can be a "end all, be all" job for some, but not for others. I always knew that Travis wants to coach at bigger schools and knew that some day he would move on. I wish him and Ira all the best in whatever and wherever they go. But for selfish reasons, I want them to stay right here at Silsbee! As for where would Silsbee go, I truly believe that a multitude of very well qualified and good coaches would apply. I believe the Tiger Basketball program would just roll on!
 11. Marcus Malbrough, former West Brook player and University of Missouri defensive end, will join the Lamar football team this fall. The '6"5 250 lb DE will have 2 years of eligibility at Lamar. He played 25 games while at Mizzou. Great addition to the LU defense.
 12.
Stay tuned....  ;) :D Hancock and football? ??? ??? Must be more to the story at WOS where it would prompt him to leave Kountze "basketball" for a pigskin position at WOS.
I believe Tremain will be an assistant basketball coach at WOS as well, but I am still a little surprised that he left Kountze.
 13.
If Joubert is the new AD,  it is long overdue. Why does the football coach have to be the AD at a school? He is deserving; just look at what he has done for that program.
I agree. Duane is deserving of the position. I am just not sure if KISD has qualifications for that position that Joubert may not have i.e. (masters, admin)
 14.
No prison would make you happy!  He is close, real close!
There are several prisons "real close". ;) Well, we can rule out any educational profession. ::)
 15. Good luck Mustangs!! Play well!!
 16.
When is Wo-s preview coming out?
The "greatest WOS fan of all time" has already given the WOS preview right after their final game last season. He stated that the Mustangs had 34 returning starters, with 20 of then being first team all district, 10 all state, with 5 all americans, with 24 of them all verbally committed to SEC, Big 12, Big 10 and Pac 10 schools. ::)

At the new high school or the old? Might make it out to see some games
Well, if you consider the 11 year old high school "new", then that's where the tourney will be played. ;)
I consider it newer than the older one...
Yep. And the older one is newer than the one before it, and that one is newer than the oldest one. ;) ;D
 18.

Did not know that Tremain left to be a football assistant at WOS. Wonder who Joubert will have as his assistant basketball coach?
Are we sure Joubert will even be at Kountze next season?  ;)
I am thinking that Kountze will make him the new AD to keep him there.
 19.
Welli haven't heard about a new football coach but that's good news... I mean he was 0-10 at orangefield before he came to kountze... I don't see why he was hired in the first place
Stewert was not the head coach at Orangefield. When did Orangefield go 0-10? BTW, Stewert has resigned as head football coach at Kountze to become assistant at Lumberton. [Hidden Content]
 20. [Hidden Content] Could effect more than just the football team. Tremain Hancock has left to be an assistant football coach at WOS. Wonder who Joubert will have as his assistant basketball coach? Word is Joubert could become the new AD. ;)

 24.
Lamar PA had its best season when he was an assistant for one year,  The recruits that he attracted have put a great stamp on an up and coming program.  The Head coach left and Lamar PA did notwant to guarentee him a contract so he did not get fired.  He was laid off with pay at the last private school position, which is not fired.  Wilmer Hutchingson was a strange issue at most.  They were winning at a new school before he walked his team off the court.  He has an opinion of what happenned and so does the school board.  He left Prarie Veiw to pursue head coaching on a high school level.  The Wnnie job was releavd of duties issue.  So I count relieved twice!  ;D
He wasn't at Winnie, he was at Anahuac. He also was "let go" before the season started at Kirbyville. You know as well as I do that he was "let go" at this last private school fiasco. ::) But ultimately, he was "let go" permanently by the state certification board. ;)
