1. Stating that the HJ coaching staff is better than Silsbee's is one thing (argumentative, but okay by me) but to say that the Silsbee coaching staff knows that they are not better than HJ's is being disrespectful.
 2. Score by quarters                       1        2          3           4         tot Silsbee             14      13         22         20         69 WB                  18      18         10         17         63 Silsbee  (18-2) WB      (7-10) attendance: 15,237 3rd quarter was the difference. Tigers made the halftime adjustments.

 4.
How far back can you get tapes of championship games?
Not sure. I would say only as far back as '78, the first year at the Erwin Center.
 5.
Aggiearewe I have the programs from both games from 1995. Please pull out you Texas Basketball Mag and check out the scores as well.
You might want to retract your previous statement. Click this link: [Hidden Content] Lincoln beat Austin anderson 57-56, not 50-49. You are correct about Cleburn though, I had that year mixed up with '93 when the girls lost to Cedar Hill.
 6.
They already knew it.................
Wow! You know I come to expect some of these idiots to be disrespectful, but not you Rob. Why you dissing the Silsbee coaching staff like that?

Personally, I like Silsbee's halfcourt game over HJ's.
Is there any part of Silsbees game that you dont like over HJs?
Yep, but that's a secret. ;D

 11.
PA Lincoln vs Austin Anderson. Kris Klack vs Stephen Jackson. PA Lincoln 50 Austin Anderson 49. 1995 Silsbee girls (Stallworth/Mccain) lost to Cleburn. Silsbee was ranked 1 all year and lost a heart breaker to Cleburne.
First of all, the score of the Lincoln/Anderson game was 57-56 and Silsbee girls lost to Canyon, not Cleburn.
 12. But why not state that both teams get the majority of their points off defensive pressure rather than just saying Silsbee?
 13. From all the HJ games I have seen this year, the Hawks get a ton of points off defensive pressure as well. Personally, I like Silsbee's halfcourt game over HJ's.
 14.

I'm more than sure DC will play. Silsbee by 8 tonight. WB has lost 3 straight games.
Will Travis be there for this one?
I am quite certain that Travis will be there, but not sure if he will be on the bench or in the stands. I personally would rather him not even be there but I know he cannot stay away. He was in Woodville but sat in the stands during the tourney.
 15.
What time does the first game start?
I think around 1pm.
 16.
Wb guards will be the difference.  Wb by 6
They weren't the difference the first time they played this season. ;) Depends upon if Stallworth plays. He has missed the last 3 Tiger games.
 17.
What about Silsbee's coaching staff, who is their coach?
Head coach Travis Williams Assistants James Collins and Ira Brooks Love these guys, wouldn't have any other coaching staff.
 18. I hear you Nash and agree with you. IMO, as long as HJ has that coaching staff, I will NEVER be surprised of anything they do, including beating my Tigers. Some folks on here are just uneducated. ;D
 19. Nash, when have you ever made a comment on this board that wasn't sarcastic? I just figured that was how you spoke all the time. Took that as you speaking the truth, in your special way. ;)
 20. A couple of other state tourney games that are instilled in my mind: 1978 4A (now 5A) State championship San Antonio Fox Tech vs. Houston Wheatley This was the first year that the Frank Erwin Center hosted the state tourney. This game had one of the biggest coaching blunders of all time, IMO. Fox Tech led 83-82 with 1 second left in game and was at the free throw line shooting 2 shots. Wheatley had no timeouts remaining. Fox Tech player missed the first free throw, then missed the 2nd, and on the rebound a Fox Tech player fouled a Wheatley player as the clock hit :00. Wheatley player promptley made both free throws with no time on clock and Wheatley won the state championship, 84-83. Question, WHY DID THE FOX TECH COACH HAVE HIS PLAYERS LINED UP ON THE LANE?? Why didn't he have them back to avoid fouling on the rebound? This was a big blunder. I was asking my dad why he had them on the lane before the player even shot the free throws. Everyone around us was asking that question. This was before the 3 point shot came into play, so no worries of losing on a lucky, full court shot. I will never understand why the coach played it that way. Lost the game, IMO. 1983 5A State Semifinal Fort Worth Paschal vs. Houston Yates Yates came into this game with a college team. Their starting five all signed DI ( 2 of them being Ricky Winslow of UH Phi Slamma Jamma fame, Carvin Holcomb of Baylor). Yates started '6"5, '6"5, '6"6, '6"8 and '6"9, with the '6"8 Winslow running point. Paschal had no player on their team taller than '6"2. It was said during the season that anyone could have coached the Yates team to a state championship with all that talent. Well, Paschal proved that wrong! Paschal was a very disciplined team and their guard play was just too quick and skilled for Yates to control. Paschal won this game by 14. They ended up losing to Bryan in the finals. This game gave me a new found respect for the job of coaching. I would have never believed that Paschal could have beaten that Yates team had I not seen it with my own eyes. Paschal greatly out coached Yates in that game. It was amazing to watch!!

That is exactly what I meant....just like we always do ;)
HJ will lose to Silsbee by 25 at home and by 35 at Silsbee.  Please, it is so very well established that HJ should not even get on the floor for these games.
I wish you really thought this way. But Silsbee see thru this mockery 8)
I am merely stating the consensus opinion of this board.  Certainly, Silsbee sees through it and that is just another reason why HJ cant get an edge and hasn't a prayer.
A consensus?? When did 2-3 people make the entire board a consensus? BTW, the "woe is me" talk is getting pretty lame. ::)
 22. Just a note from the talk of Buna and their low scoring: Buna's Don Stanley still hold's the record for most points scored in a game at the state tournament with 51 back in 1957. (actually share's the record with Tommy Jones of Crane 1969) Doesn't look to low scoring to me. ;)
