Saw some undulations I hadn’t seen before. I think it was hole #6. From tee to green had a deep gorge in between. Saw the golfers walking to the green. You could tell it was steep by the way they walked.

#6 has always been a downhill par 3.

Lot's of folks sit on the hill side below the tee box. Been that way for many decades.

Should be a good final round.

Have any of y'all been to Augusta National? If so, what really stood out about your walk around the course that maybe you don't get watching on TV?

For me it was Hole #10. We stood behind the tee box and watched 2 groups tee off and you can tell there is an elevation drop. We wondered to a few different spots then ended up at #10 green. We looked back at the tee box and it looked like we were looking up a mountain. Elevation changes at that course are more severe than the tv shows. Also, concession prices. One place that could get away with charging crazy amounts and they don't.

    Been twice. 1994 and 1999

TV does not do the elevation changes any justice.

#10 for sure but #9 and #18 are pretty up hill.

Seems like ESPN is making a fool of themselves again. I am following it on my phone and apparently ESPN is showing little or nothing of Bryson DeChambeau, just because he plays on the LIV tour. That's what social media is claiming. DeChambeau is one stroke off the lead and alone in 2nd place! Meanwhile they flood their coverage with people who are not even making the cut!

I hate sorry ESPN. They always have politics going on. If you can't cover someone in 2nd place who could easily win the Masters you are FAILING, espn.

ESPN did not start their broadcast coverage until 1pm Central. Bryson teed off at 9:15am. He only had about 3 holes left to play when they came on air.

Same as McElroy. He had teed off early yesterday and only had a couple of holes left when they came on air.

They periodically showed highlights of those two's second round.

Their coverage in the afternoon is of the players who teed off in the afternoon. Same as Thursday. McElroy and DeChambeau got plenty of coverage on Thursday when their play was in the ESPN broadcast window.

Is there a major umpire shortage for high school baseball?  We have canceled 2 games because of no umpires.

    Yes.

Several games have been moved up to Mondays, back to Wednesdays, up to Thursdays and back to Saturdays to accommodate the shortage

  6. Just a few facts for you from last night’s game:
4 total fouls called in the first half ( 3 on UH, 1 on UF). Game was physical both ways, really didn’t even notice the refs.
Second half: 5 fouls called on Florida in the first 3 minutes, then a technical foul on the Florida bench. After the tech: 16 fouls on Houston (at one point there were 3 fouls in 9 seconds!), 3 fouls on Florida.
So, other than the first 3 minutes of the second half, there were 19 fouls called on UH, & 4 called on UF.

Not really, people are well within their right to make any comments and then consider corresponding responses. How do we know when each particular facet of conversation has been discussed enough?

You would be wrong on the any comment.

    There are no rights here.

Considering that the "open position" in WV is directly after the State Championship game vs "Gunter" and that several in the forum have cited that game as a reason that the position needed to be "open", discussion about that game is entirely relevant.

Unless you happen to have a detailed list of exactly what can be stated, we always appreciate forum police. Especially since it is mandatory that everyone reads every thread, even when they are not interested in the direction of the comments.

But the game has been talked about enough.

Need to direct the conversation to the job that is open and who could fill it.

Seems as though you are doing some policing as well.

Is this thread titled Thoughts On The Wville Gunter game or Woodville Is Open....? My apologies but reading comprehension is not my strong suit!

I've tried to redirect the convo to the coach opening.

Guess I will have to start deleting.

Because I know of one?? Would like to know if there are anymore? Why be a jerk?

I highly doubt there are any baseball/softball openings currently other than the one you know about.

I assume that one is a position that was filled temporarily for just this season and will be open for next season.

Otherwise, I don't know why a baseball/softball head coach position would be available right now during the season. Only thing I can think of would be a school that currently doesn't play either sport and will be playing it next year. Therefore needing a coach for that sport for next season.

Personally think this topic is very premature being that we are in the middle of district play.
