If Lumberton upset Vidor wouldn’t LCM get a piece of the DC?
IF VIdor gets by HH, (not an easy task in my mind), and Lumberton & LCM win out, then LCM, Lumb., Vidor would each have one district loss, creating a 3 way tie for first. ( Lumb. winning out means Raiders beats Pirates). IMO LCM has the easier schedule the next two weeks, while Vidor has the toughest.

Who is Seppy? #7? Sepulvado? Durn.
Yep

The one that’s been on said they’ve had 10 starters out with injuries. Many are coming back now, just in time for Vidor.
On the other hand, I hear Seppy is iffy for Friday. Sure hope he can go....

Well, at least she didn't mention the word that starts with the 10th letter of the alphabet to go along with it......nope I'm not superstitious 😃

Just read on DCTF, Vidor is #10 on the DCTF rankings! No more flying under the radar, and the target just got larger.
Mentioned the ranking to my wife, she responded, "Hope it's not like being on the cover of Sports Illustrated"

Yeah, the play was down near the west end zone. Limped back to huddle but stayed in. I was really expecting someone to come in for him. Showed good toughness. Hopefully he’ll be at full speed Friday
-
#21 Rodgers is certainly fast. Have heard his name called prior to Liv. game but not as much as you’d think after what he showed Friday night.
-
7 was limping back to the huddle after a couple of plays, but didn’t see him come out til 4th quarter when Coach started wholesale substitutions.
-
Wasn't Rodgers, (#21), Gall's (#4) injury replacement?

Can’t impress to much how important this game is. I won’t bother getting into all the different scenarios if you lose, but none are real good. Bottom line Pirates, you really need a win here. And don’t be fooled by HH losses to Ltown & LCM. They had almost half their starters out with injuries. You can bet some are back. They were up 34-0 over Splendora at halftime. You’ll see a different Falcon team than others in District have. So buckle up your chin strap and play as well as we all know you can.
You are right about HH injury situation improving. Team will be facing a a more formidable challenge now.

Every Livingston offensive highlight last night I saw a messed up snap, so I expect several turnovers.
Give me the Bears by 4 TDs.
You’re right about bad snaps. Lions had several plus off the mark pitches, fumbles, int. Their offense definitely had issues. Your prediction seems about right unless they really improve in a weeks time.

I was told by a Raider fan (friend) that I had to pick LCM, so there. It’s done. The die is cast.
Pirate fans should root for LCM this week for sure

Just hope Matthews has the Pirates focused on beating Livingston. These young men make history with every victory. One game at a time Pirates. No other opponent in the State of Texas is significant, only the Lions.
Coach needs to remind the team of the meaning of "trap game"..........and more importantly how to avoid falling into it.
-
No doubt it will take a great effort to keep rolling. Must stay focused and like last week, hold onto to the ball.

Its amazing a former 3 high school city is potentially dropping to have just one D-II 5A school. Crazy.
Was thinking the same thing.

Vidor has 3 tough games remaining, Livingston, HH and Lumberton. Still a lot to shake out over the next 3 weeks, shouldn't surprise anyone to see a shared DC this year.

I heard of Lumberton numbers going up, but not Vidor. They got neighborhoods going up in Vidor?
Only one that I know of and only a couple of houses or so in it so far. Harvey and Imelda caused a lot of the population drop.

Could be a chance Vidor moves the opposite way and goes back up along with Lumberton since we were both very close to the cutoff last time. I think we got a lot of Louisiana refugees moving in from the Hurricanes over there but we’ll see, I’m sure the cutoff number will increase again. I hope they keep us right here for a little while, we’re just getting settled in and comfortable.
Seems like I saw preliminary 2020 general census numbers around 1000 residents less than 2010. I know city numbers don't necessarily relate to high school enrollment but still........

Does 99 for Vidor have any offers have any offers?
I’m not sure, but if not, he should.

Remember playing against Steve in '65. He was a load to tackle.

How many guys are still around from that 1964 team? I know they blew LC out that year
I know of six that are still around. Sparky Robinson was the most decorated of them as an All-State player and is still with us..also know of 8 that have passed on. Lost track of the other 12.

I’ve heard so much about that Vidor squad. Sparky was a beast and they were ranked #1 all the way through destroying every team in their path up until the state semis. I heard the Pirates put up some points and blew most teams out. Easily winning district agains some good Bmt teams, PNG, Ned and the like. They built the stadium that the Pirates play in now after the deep playoff run but the head coach retired not long after
Played 3 Beaumont schools, French, Forest Park and Kelly, but didn't play PNG or Nederland. Remember Vidor was 3A then and played LIttle Cypress, Jasper, Channelview Liberty, West Orange, Bridge City and Silsbee. Hung 50 on LIttle Cypress and 56 on Jasper, but French, 14-6, and Forest Park, 14-7, were tough games.

And George Thurman was the TE. Seems like Don Minton was FB (killed in Vietnam) and Bubba Pullen was one RB. Can’t remember other. Sparky Robinson played both ways but was All State DT.
Gary Cole was the other RB (and one of only 4 underclassmen on the '64 team). Jerry Wheeler would sometimes line up as a running back as well.

Not looking ahead. As Hagar pointed out, HH is the only game that matters now.
