1. Interesting that you say that. The CC team has Coach Leonard. He might be older, but he's a great motivator and he's training them with lots of new principles and ideas. That's the type of coach folks are saying would benefit the football program.
  2. It's amazing to me that everyone and their brother knows the verse from Matthew that says, "Judge not, lest you be judged". However, they ignore the verses that tell us to judge righteously and that we'll know other Christians by their fruit. Sorry, but if anyone is truly a Christian, they will not stand neutral on topics that the bible clearly says are wrong. The Gospel is much simpler than Christians have made it. But, God's standard is higher than the point we've watered it down to as well. 1. NO ONE is good. 2. We are all sinners. Regardless if it is lying, stealing, adultery (even in your heart), homosexuality, lust, blasphemy, idol worship(putting things before Him) or murder. 3. The punishment for sin is eternity in hell. 4. Jesus paid for our sins because we never could. 5. His grace covers our sin. Christians are required to spread this message and to tell people the truth IN LOVE. If I truly love my child, I won't stand by the side of the road as they walk into traffic on I-10 and calmly request that they come back to my side, being careful not to upset them. Out of honest desire for them to live, I'll yell, grab their arm, sacrifice myself, or do anything it takes to make sure that they continue living. The same should go for Christians who know that the people around them are headed for certain death. Many Christians, myself included, have worried about making folks uncomfortable for far too long. People need to hear that they NEED a Savior, NOT that God wants them to be happy. We can do that with love and genuine concern though. And yes... God LOVES homosexuals. God doesn't have a sin meter. ALL sin is the same and it separates us from HIM unless we receive his grace.
  3. The "Worth the Wait" curriculum DOES cover the risks of unprotected sex. Also, our teachers field any and all questions students might have in regards to sex.... and believe me.... there are lots. Parents need to do a better job.
  4. Quality post there. No reason to invite the extremists out to do what they're aching to do. Stupid... major respect to that officer though.
  5. I'm just getting up to date on this one....   I keep reading that the officers made eye contact with Gray and his friend, then they ran. Has anyone given any insight into why that happened? Admittedly, i haven't clicked every link on the thread.

  10. I just don't understand why people can't just submit. If the officer is in the wrong, you have a better shot at sorting it out later than taking matters into your hands in the heat of the moment. The ultimate loser is the families of the resisters IMO.

Wow [Breaking news update at 12:24 a.m.] An entire row of businesses are now on fire on West Florissant Avenue, a major street in Ferguson, Missouri. There are so many fires in the city that firefighters haven't been able to reach all of them, CNN's Sara Sidner said.

The kids we are talking about are good and some will be great athletes. They are well coached and things will look different in a few weeks. All you Bronco coaching experts should remember the young men who work hard all year to be on that field. Mind your words, they read this stuff.
well said... as usual
  15.
Dayton fans need to quit whining.  So much complaining about who needs to play where.  Kind of silly.  You have a qb that's taking his first varsity snaps against two very good programs and all of a sudden the sky is falling.  Patience is a virtue.  Give the kids some time and let them develop. Scrimmages are for trying different players at different positions and getting reps in.  I'm glad Dayton didn't schedule powder puff opponents at the beginning of the season.  I would rather see a team struggle early on against solid competition and shine during district than fool everyone at the start and crumble later. Rant over.
agreed. Lots of youth out there for the Broncos. There is some talent with that though. When they get comfortable out there and the talent comes through, folks will change their tune.... like always. I think this team has a pretty high ceiling with what they can do this year... the Nederland scrimmage didn't change that for me.

  17.
how tall is this kid??
An honest 5' 10" I'd say. Really solidly built!
  18. Last I heard, deangelo godfrey was playig for wb.... heard that from his own mouth. Is he really at PAM? I had originally thought he was, but he told me otherwise.

Seay was laying the wood and getting good separation from the WRs when they were blocking him. And I want to say he was 21? laid a huge hit on a wr was getting off blocks great coverage over all was great I really thought this was going to be our weak link on the D but tbh it is a strong point not as strong as our D line but they are dangerous good Hughes reminds a lot like carr he was making plays all night DeShawn and Malveaux were there normal selfs and holmon was holding his own, LBs need some work I would have like to maybe see a few people try out for lb. the middle linebacker needs a lil better footwork get his head on the swivel and when it is a run play he needs to come down hill a lil faster. to many times I saw the linebackers drop back on a run and come down when it was a pass. Minor tweaking and some coaching and the D will be great again
I think they played very well as a team i wonder if your son can play it better or at all
seeing as how at31 graduated from ned in 02, I doubt he has a son old enough to play high school football. :)
Which son you want me to play the 2 year old or the 4 month old?
quit making excuses and get both of them suited up! You're gonna make them sissies!

It sounds like Nederland's defense line is the best in the area and Dayton's offense line is young  and only one starter back.  Nederland should control Dayton at the line? Nederland sounds like they have one of the best passing game with their star receivers.  How is Dayton's DB?
Lets not exaggerate too much here.. Our QB only has 3 quarters of experience at the varsity level and that was a scrimmage. He does have some good targets, but lets not get carried away. I'd like to see improved run blocking, better tackling, and better touch on the long balls this week. The QB looked good after the first quarter last week and should continue to improve as he gets more experience.
This should be a fun test for both as usual. Much different opponents than either team faced last week. Here's to a great week of practice and an injury free scrimmage for both squads.

The only way dayton moved the ball was in the hurry up. I love the way it took you a couple of days to get over the anger and put these crap up here. From where I was sitting the Dayton backers were HOT! Numerous fans, and I quote"we have to find a running game!" Congratulations on that #6 area ranking, because when the season starts,  that ish is GONE!!!!! :o
Fans are fans... they talked like that in 07 and 08 too and what do you know state semis and finals those years. Didnt mean squat then and doesnt mean squat now. Sc has the hot hand in sharp and a huge enrollment to ensure more than enough support. Be thankful for what you have ... you're a big fish in a small pond  and soon you wont be able to talk so big.
You're right because soon I'll be talking ish on a college fourm!  :o
Everybody's a winner in that case.

  24.
Wasn't overly impressed with the Bronco's against Friendswood they have some work to do and must improve a lot or they will playing basketball come play off time. Defense didn't put any pressure on FW's qb they stood around to much - way to many off side calls on the offense - we need a big back to loosen the middle up ( is Ruffin available ?) same old side line screen passes we been running for 17 yrs maybe as the season progresses we'll dust off a new play book. We got another show-case kicker again this year :) QB has a good arm and will improve every game wished he was bigger. Our WR's are fast and athletic and will carry the team if we mix things up a bit. Don't see us hanging with SC or Crosby and will have a hard time stopping O'Neal when we play BH, but who knows I've been wrong before and the season is young.
Just one quick note... dayton ran the wishbone (or some primarily running O) for the first several playoff years. Those screens or sideline passes came later. i definitely agree our receiving crew can be awefully good though. I think this group has a lot of upside IMO.
  25. I left at half... any scoring in the 2nd half? I'm comfortable with what I witnessed considering all the youth and inexperience that I know is on the field. Once the game slows down a little for our sophs and our qb, I think the broncos will be pretty solid.
