  1. Absolutely right. Those are the rules of track and field. Plenty of World, National, State, etc records have been nullified due to wind speeds. Wind at your back or in your face is a definite factor. That's why they've been recording wind speeds at major meets for more than 30 years. Probably much longer than that. I sure wish he'd run track exclusively at Baylor. He's obviously special.
  2. Milesplit has his personal best as a 10.39.
  3. Aw man... Hadn't thought about Coach Payton in a long while. Had him for a course or two at Lamar. Such a genuinely nice guy. Prayers for his family.
  4. wouldn't that be true of most schools Hardin's size?
  5. Looking forward to seeing how this game turns out. I was impressed by Mr. Nail last week. Sure looked like he knew what he was doing and throws a catchable, accurate ball. I'm tempted to make some bold predictions about this season, but I'm just gonna keep watching how this group is growing. Good luck, Broncos!
  6. A sports hernia is usually classified as an overuse injury. I think that supports what I'm saying. It doesn't matter, really. Just my personal opinion. I'm glad he'll be back playing soon, and I think Herman is going to crush it at UT.
  7. nope... I'm saying that it's very likely, that they are CHOOSING to do it wrong. Notice that I said, "not using the knowledge, resources, and experts at their fingertips."
  8. I don't know the details of Locke's injury. But, generally speaking, I have to agree with your sentiment here. Way too many coaches are not using the knowledge, resources, and experts at their fingertips, to get the most out of their athletes. There's a fine line between tough and stupid, and I'd wager that a majority of football coaches, are still crossing that line.
  9. Yes...Next football season's Junior class.
  10. I was thinking it was Dicus (sp?) not sure though. Morris took over sometime around there.
  11. Definitely didn't look like a catch. LT is amazing though. You name it and they're capable of it.
  12. Wouldn't expect anything less. He coached with the great Hayden Fox.
  13. IMO... 1. Winning culture of high expectations and athlete commitment created by good, consistent coaching. 2. They can put 11 athletes on the field that can compete at almost any level in the state. 3. They've got a top notch field general right now, that really operates the offense. In my VERY limited opinion, in the past (8 years before the JD era), WOS seemed to do a lot of run, run, throw the deep ball and let their athleticism take over. In the little that I've seen the past 3 years, they've really been able to develop a diverse offensive scheme due to the continuity and skill at QB. Disclaimer: I'm just a very casual fan, that never played the game. And.... I'm super proud that WOS is representing SETX so well.
  14. Agreed... but WOS rarely sees a team that can match athletes with them. IMO, they could run whatever they wanted.
  15. Won't be close. I'm just not sure Giddings does anything well enough to give WOS a challenge. No disrespect to Giddings. WOS is just in an entirely different universe.
  16. Just heard about this. Just visited with him at the Liberty game. Prayers for his family and all that knew him.
  17. Posse always reminds me of the wild west... What a bunch of babies.
  18. Dayton has dressing/locker rooms now. Came with the bond...
