  1. Snelson in the 90’s was our football, basketball, track, and powerlifting coach. He was tough on his players, BUT he cared about his players. BTW a lot of those parents now played for him then. I hope that whoever they get cares for those kids the way Snelson did/ still does.

  2. BH had multiple D1 players in the 1990's and won 1 state championship. Its hard to win state. BH had kendal shaw (Vanderbilt) and lost in 4a semi finals. BH lost in Semis with collier to Canyon. Dont know how many WNBA players Canyon had that year. My point is winning state aint easy. Look at all the free throws Brownsboro missed down the stretch to make it interesting. HJ was sloppy with the BB and it cost them. Stop blaming the coach. You'd be praising him if they made 2 more points.

  3. They should make the Basketball coach or the Baseball coach the AD. Both win and would give the athletic program some consistency. The football talent/community/facilities are not enough to keep any FB coach around for long. I got a name for yall. Mark Newton. He is a very good coach, lives in community, is from Tarkington, and his kids go to school there.

  4. Coach Jim Dixon passed away on Thursday march 9. He was the basketball coach at Tarkington for all of the 1990’s. If you knew Coach Dixon you knew a great man. I was blessed to get play for him in 1995-1997. He was great coach. I challenge anyone who reads this thread to reach out to one of your old coaches and tell them what an impact they made in your life.

    Rest In Peace Coach
