And WOS had a few real good Jr last year. That is what I am basing my pick on. If Silsbee has players that are not playing this summer, I might be wrong. But just like everyear it will be close between these 3, and they are just a little better then the rest of the teams. JMO And ST413 is a fool HJ can play their jv and beat most of these teams.
So basically your saying that your prediction comes down to the fact that you havent seen Silsbee playing Summer League? I'm sure Stallworth is playing for some manner of AAU team and to be honest they'd be better served working on their games individually than playing summer league. Summer league is good for conditioning and younger players.

20-4A predictions for 2010-2011
Coach Schrapps replied to bojonomore's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
PNG had a freshman who I would think would be on varsity this year as a sophomore. And like was said earlier I'll take Doty over Williamson, and Lumberton? They would be my pick for cellar dwellers. -

PNG in the cellar?? Doty's good enough to lead his team to a much better result than that. -
DCTF's Predictions for TAPPS, DI-3
Coach Schrapps replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
This could be the year that Kelly pulls on to level ground with Pius and wins the district championship. Virtually every starter for Kelly coming back except Cris Quinn. Pius loses alot of talent headed by Greg Daniels and co. Should be an interesting year all around though as Thomas returns alot of players as well. Maybe not the best year for Houston Christian to join the district. -
Especially true with how much the other teams in this district are losing

Once again recruiting comes up and Strake gets thrown into things. and before you go saying I don't know what Im talking about homeless Ive been around the AAU circuit so I know how it is. Strake's three stars being Rasheed and the Harrison Twins all went to Strake on their own accord. Why wouldn't you? They have the best academics period. they have a great coach and look at where they have sent players to play division one basketball. Rice. Penn State. Notre Dame. What parent wouldnt want their kids to get an opportunity to attend a school like that. Your going to tell me that Strake was able to recruit a player away from Westbury Christian? Nope, Rasheed went there because he wanted to go there. Your going to tell me that the Harrison twins were recruited to Strake only to be forced to play JV as freshman when they could have started at any high school in houston? I don't think so. Strake is an established program now that any parent would be crazy not to consider.
You cant compare guys and girls teams, the guys would be able to rebound at will agains the Uconn team and everyone on this board knows that if you control the boards you will most likely win. the boys team would also cause the women to foul like crazy trying to keep the guys in front of them. So the Uconn women in my openion would be able to keep the 1A div. 2 team close the others would win by 10+
Are you forgetting these are Division 1 Athletes who have had expert training in strength and conditioning. Why would they be able to out rebound? When it comes to the fundamentals of rebounding and boxing out I'll take the best Division 1 women's basketball team in the country. so they can't keep them in front of them two words...zone defense.
Come on... There is a HUGE difference between the boys and the ladies. Just look at the Griner girl @ Baylor. She gets how many blocks a game just because she can get up near/above 10'. Every state champ has multiple kids who can play above the rim(4a/5a probably all of them) and run the floor too. I agree the Uconn coach could put his girls in positions to score some points, but they would lose to every state champ. Now could they beat many boys teams? yes. State champs, NO!!
1a teams with alot of players playing above the rim? I dont think so. Theres a difference between being able to dunk and playing above the rim. Lebron plays above the rim, the kids in the dunk contest the other night play above the rim. NONE of the state champions have multiple guys who can play like that. You dont think the women can run the floor? They score like 90 points a game. Starting five for UCONN Maya Moore 6' Tina Charles 6'4 Tiffany Hayes 5'10 Caroline Doty 5'10 Kalana Green 5'10 Two bench players 6'2 or taller Lubbock Estacado 5 leading Scorers Kevin Wagner 5'8 Clarence Willard 6'2 Ti Russel 6'3 Ryheim Hunter n/a Barry Johnson 5'10 Looks to me they match up pretty well
-
The UCONN Women are not your typical women's team. They would beat the 1A-3A teams. I just dont know about Yates and Bush. That being said. Tina Charles is a great low post player. Caroline Doty can absolutely play and shoot the lights out of it. Then there's Mya Moore...Wow. She could absolutely match up with any of these teams in terms of her game. She plays the game like a man. That is not a derogatory comment but she doesn't have the form that most women do she shoots like a man. She handles the ball and puts it on the floor and can attack the rim.

How about the fact that playing 42 games is near impossible?

Anti-Yates/Pro Coach Isaacs and Coach Bruce

No player ever died from gettin beat like that. If you dont agree with what coach wise does, i am sure he doesn't care. if you want yates respect, then quit pissin and moanin behind screen names, go be a coach and go get you some. If you cant do that, then keep on typing cause it is probably the closest thing to basketball that you have been involved in.
Like Coach Wise, I don't care that don't agree with me that Wise is a piece. And I don't care to have Yates respect. Earning the respect of Wise and the rest of the 3rd ward ghetto is the last thing on my mind. There have been lots of good teams in the state of Texas, and they won lots of games. Yates isn't the only hs team in this state to go undefeated and be national champs. The difference between Yates and Willowridge, or Dallas Lincoln, is that they did it with class. If you don't think Willowridge with TJ Ford and Daniel Ewing couldn't have beat the breaks off of people if they wanted than your just plain foolish. Instead they won with class and earned respect from everyone, not just the 3rd world/ward crowd that looks to beat down on outmanned hs kids to make up for their lack of service and civilty in the real world. And what's wrong with our society and our kids is that they live by the law of the jungle, instead by the law of the land. It has nothing to do with winning games or going undefeated, but its by how they do it.
Your post is so beyond inappropriate....

Supposedly the capacity of that building is 3,000...like I said poor choice
-
Toyota would have been a good option. Rice and U of H too it's a shame to turn that many people way

Whoa now I wouldn't start calling high school kids chokers. None of us know the burden they played with being ranked number one and having that bullseye. That being said Bush had a great game plan. They played zone and made Bellaire hold the ball looking for an opening. They ran when they got the chance but prevented Bellaire from getting out in transition. It was a great game. Congrats to both teams on their seasons.
-
Game completely sold out. Several thousand people outside the stadium never seen anything like this. It didn't matter if you had a coaches pass there was no getting in. Word is it's been sold out since 6. Poor planning by UIL
-
Congrats Strake on a fine season...to lose three Division 1 players and to still make this kind of run is highly impressive. They will definitely be a team to watch next year with Rasheed and the Harrison twins.

Anyone go to the game tonight? I'm going to watch Bellaire play and then Yates later in the day. How early would anyone recommend getting there? -

JMO ??? ::)
Game is over, but, its where New Waverly WANTED to play. :-\ It is being said that they don't do too well in gyms with big spaces behind the goals and along the sidelines.
hmm sounds like East Chambers lol
