tvc, I agree (for the most part...) There are no court cases YET. These gun nuts will push it until there is a court case or our law makers pass a law. Meanwhile, if the law DOES NOT state that you cannot do it, they operate under the premise that you can.
While I'm kind of a gun nut myself, and I support the concept of open carry, I wont be going to the mall with a scary black rifle on my back and would not be comfortable around those that do.

I'm a white guy who DID vote for Obama the first go-round, and DID NOT vote for him the second time. Clearly his race was not the reason I voted for him the first time, and the fact that I did vote for him once proves the fact that my not voting for him a second time had nothing to do with race as well. I butt heads with a lot of the conservatives on here quite frequently, but I'm in agreement with several of their criticisms of Obama. And while I still maintain Bush did a mediocre to poor job while in office, I don't feel like "look how bad Bush was" is a strong argument against those who argue for Obama. It's obvious that Obama gained more votes based solely on race than he lost. The people on here who have been accused of disagreeing with him based on race simply hold different ideologies. The same complaints they have against him they would've voiced against Clinton as well, or Hillary had she won. And while I don't always agree with many of their conservative beliefs, I've never mistaken Nash's or 77's or LumRaiderFan's or 5GallonBucket's or similar posters' comments against Obama as racism. It's simply disagreements with his policies and actions.

A sinner's prayer is not necessarily wrong even though the prayer is not in the bible. I feel it is a good tool to lead those through the initial acknowledgement and confession of sins and accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I also think the non-biblical opinion of asking Jesus into our heart is splitting hairs. You can ask him into your heart, body, soul, life, whatever; Jesus knows your heart and intent and He will squabble over proper working. JMO

You can tell a lot more about a person you dont even know by his political values expressed on a message board than your father can after playing basketball with a man for many years and also having hundreds of conversations with him at HJ basketball games. I am looking at this and if it is legit, then I hope they catch the guys but I wouldn't put it past this girlfriend to pull something like this for sympathy, more spotlight, whatever.

Based on recent news about the VA, it would appear that your Houston uncle is lucky that he made the A list and not the other one.  I took my basic training at Ft. Knox Kentucky and my advanced training there as well.   Where did you take your basic training.  Not being a big fan of government sponsored medical care, I have never been to the VA.  I chose to be responsible for my own medical care and all has worked out well.  While my care is not free, I am satisfied with what I am getting with my coverage even though I have no need for free birth control pills.  I always operated under that crazy notion that I should pay for my healthcare and that you should pay for yours.  I see no reason to be forced to handle it another way.  If you have to ask yourself who you had in mind for Alzheimers test, it means you probably are in the early stages.

Let's again not rewrite history.  Clinton had socialist leaning tendencies.  Remember he tried socialized medicine.  This, among other thing, swept the Republicans in office in 1994.  Any good pro-economic growth measures that got passed was done the the Republican majority's:  This was all done with him kicking and screaming all the way.  Look up "Triangulation" as it refers to Clinton.  I do give him credit for having enough sense to realize at the time the significance of the beating he took in the '94 election.  He did have executive experience and understood a few things. 
This hollow suit, man-child we have now has never ran anything or hired anybody.  His only knows what hes read in books.  He, unlike Clinton, will not compromise with the other side of the isle. 
Any room he walks into on any subject -- he is the least qualified man in the room!  And you think he's gonna turn this economy around?  It's been 6 years and the economy stinks.  It's because he doesn't have a clue!  If he does, the please show us where!

Your mind is made up. Dr. Carson had a story and told it well before 2009. He has been a hero for many people long before your wacky info website has told you that he is considered a hero. He is not an instant hero. He has a lifetime of work to prove he his a hero to many. You put the man down without any knowledge of what he has done. If you have facts, pound the facts. If you have nothing, like you and many others, pound your fist!

Did the name callers on here listen to what he said? Not just hear it, but listen? He was talking about the system. He was not putting people down. He was talking about human nature. If you continue to hand people things for "free" without requiring action to improve, human nature will take over and you will want more for continuing to do nothing. If he is an Uncle Tom, whoopi is too. Her rant reinforced his comment on fixing the system. But she is loud and uses hand movement, so she is speaking gospel? Come on. The man is pretty remarkable. But he is conservative. That translates to Uncle Tom from PAMFan10 and BG. He forgets where he came from? I doubt that. His success is based on where he came from and not wanting to go back to that. If he wore a Lions jersey and stabbed people, that would mean he keeps it real, PAMFan? Quit reading headlines and look for a story.

Congrats on your degree's. I have a buddy that is a NP and that is really the future. Hopefully Texas will pass the law that you do not need a Doctor to sign off to run your own business.

Degree's give you knowledge, show commitment but do not make you more intelligent or automatically better at your job. I have no degree and have been managing large businesses since I was 24, and I am currently 48. I have trained college grads only to see them fail because a Business Degree only gives you the tools.....you have to know what to do with them to make them work.
 
While I don't agree with everything Perry has done or stands for, He has ran Texas pretty good.
