  1. As you know, Lufkin changed their O a little during their bye week to take better advantage of some of their skill players. I feel relatively confident they can beat GCM. BWB is a little different animal, even though both focus their O on their QB’s. BWB has a better D than GCM IMHO. Plus, they’re on somewhat of an upswing. Still, Lufkin doesn’t have to beat GCM. They only have to beat BWB. It’s all moot if BU doesn’t lose out. Lufkin won’t win in a tie scenario. They need it to be heads up with them & RSS getting the spots. Matt is simply going with the odds based on play to this point. It’s all he can—or any of us—go by. Preseason, I picked Lufkin to get the 4 seed. I haven’t heard the fat lady sing yet. But, she is warming up. (This is just to address your BISD question about neither getting in.)

  2. 2 closely matched teams, closer than some people want to admit. I think that's why there isn't as much trash talk as usual. Neither team has this in the bag and if they think that they are deluding themselves or haven't watched previous games. This will be a one score game as was the majority of the games the last ten-twenty years were.

  10. I agree that ball handling, breaking pressure, and being able to execute are fundamental parts of the game. No argument there. But I think you’re overlooking the bigger picture. The argument isn’t that a shot clock makes a bad team bad; it’s whether the rule benefits high school basketball as a whole. A 35-second clock might seem like plenty of time, but the impact isn’t just about getting the ball across half court. It’s about how teams manage possessions, how coaches can control tempo, and how smaller programs with fewer resources adapt to the change. And while 6–8 extra possessions might not sound like much, those possessions can absolutely change the outcome of a close game. I also agree that officials and implementation are legitimate concerns. Just because a team can adjust doesn’t automatically mean the change is necessary or beneficial for every classification. Improving the game should be the goal, but we shouldn’t dismiss legitimate concerns by saying, “If your team is bad, it’s not the shot clock’s fault.”

  11. If Lufkin can contain that QB run, because they love to use it, we will win this thing. I could see it being 35-14 but I could also see us in a 24-21 dog fight lol. We haven’t put much consistency together for whatever reason. I do know our offense is running out of the pistol now to help accommodate certain guys and positions. We shall see.

  12. Hmmmm..... If Lufkin can beat GCM then I'm pretty sure they could handle WB and it's likely United would become Un-United by the RSS game........interesting.....

  15. Every year since Coach Joseph has been at PN-G, the Indians have improved every game throughout the season. This season is no different. The preparation and execution has gotten better each week. This team is on their own mission. Look at the last 4 years and you can see where this team is going. This team is trending in the right direction. Nederland is improving this year but they aren't where PN-G is right now. PN-G will win this game by double digits.

  16. If you have limited ball handling ability, you have no chance in today's basketball climate with or without a shot clock.

  18. That’s exactly why I said DNA “proves” the case. In fact if DNA is ignored, it would be very telling and cast serious doubt on any of the current claims of the left. No matters what proof is given, the automatic response would be, everything from the other side of the aisle is always false

    POLL

Do you agree this is almost identical to China—which we complain gives their companies an unfair advantage—and opens the door for future Administrations to blur the lines even more between private business and government intervention? Can you at least admit it’s a far departure from the free market system this country was founded on? Every business the Administration has taken an equity stake in has now—by default—become ‘Too Big to Fail.’ Any of their free market competitors in the U.S. have become expendable to preserve the equity stakes.

This is Blaise Raimer's Father, Paul. My son doesn't play games when it comes to football and has been preparing for this moment his whole life. He's the best and most dominant player on special teams. Vidor won't get any yards on kickoff and my son will make sure of that. They are going to have to pray that blaise doesn't come for them.

  26. You guys probably know I'm a Business banker/Manager and I see LLC's all the time. There are 3 states that throw a red flag for me when opening a relationship with an LLC. Wyoming, New Mexico and Delaware. The reason people do it is cost and privacy. A Texas LLC cost $300 and list managers or members, and you can pull up their documents for $1.00, you just have to create a profile in the TEXAS SOS page. In Wyoming it is $100 to file and does not list managers or members to documents - only the registered agent, which is not affiliated to the LLC. They are anonymous...... New Mexico is only $50 to file...... So it very well be someone from Texas filing in Wyoming, I see it all the time. There is no real way of knowing.

    Trump Effect

The video itself states this does not establish who Trump was acknowledging or if it was someone outside the frame of the camera. The folks that think I come to his defense or mistaking me for calling people out that post fake propaganda. This is real footage with propaganda on top. There is plenty of stuff to criticize trump about, there is no need to make it up....but here we are...... ALSO I might add, all this fake stuff energizes his base to go vote, so you're actually helping.

    UIL approves shot clock

I feel like if this is the issue for a team then a shot clock isn't going to make a difference. Not to be brash, but this sounds like what my old coach used to tell me, that's a YOU problem. You would still need to advance the ball past halfcourt in 10 secs, and if I'm the opposing team and realize your inabilities then I'm pressing you with simple M2M. Then the shot clock is the least of your worries cause even if you get it across I'm staying on you. Teams with short benches are going to struggle regardless, not as a reult of a shot clock. Let's be honest we're probably talking an extra 6-8 possessions a game. 35 seconds is a LONG time. The part I will agree with is the issues it may cause within smaller schools that you mentioned and officials, but make no mistake, if your team is bad it's not the shot clocks fault.

  30. With the addition of the extra RB, Orangefield has sufficient talent to establish the run as a threat & open back up the passing game which I hope will be more consistent. Orangefield did improve on passing & I hope to continue that improvement. If the Bobcats are going to make a deep run it takes all 3 phases of the game & 2 out of 3 isn’t good enough. With that said, Orangefield by 14.5.
