This is actually hilarious. People are using another definition and justifying an economic system similar to China because the ‘S’ word is a big no-no. I guess ‘Too Big to Fail’, Soylendra, the Big Auto bailouts (of which GM still owes us $14B), and all the other wonderful ideas where the government invests our money, we’re still paying for with the interest on the debt, see no return, and have no say on when we can get our money back, is okay if we use another term to describe the interference in the market. It would be different if it were incentives. But, this isn’t. This is pure market manipulation by the government using our money to pick winners and losers. The only people winning are the companies, and their direct investors. Every other competitor is losing. Almost every taxpayer is losing. Even those not born yet. Yes. I’m a conservative libertarian in fiscal matters. Not a fan of market interference by the government in this manner. Very slippery slope.

West Fork would finish 4th and Splendora would miss the playoffs in our local 4A-D2 district. Wait, are we talking about the non-Houston Houston area that Huffman belongs to that ISN'T really Houston? They might be some of the top 5A teams in THAT area, because there aren't many others.

You guys probably know I'm a Business banker/Manager and I see LLC's all the time. There are 3 states that throw a red flag for me when opening a relationship with an LLC. Wyoming, New Mexico and Delaware. The reason people do it is cost and privacy. A Texas LLC cost $300 and list managers or members, and you can pull up their documents for $1.00, you just have to create a profile in the TEXAS SOS page. In Wyoming it is $100 to file and does not list managers or members to documents - only the registered agent, which is not affiliated to the LLC. They are anonymous...... New Mexico is only $50 to file...... So it very well be someone from Texas filing in Wyoming, I see it all the time. There is no real way of knowing.

Not much chatter this week but I will throw my thoughts out there. More like questions. Can the Nederland secondary cover the PNG WR's? Can the PNG Oline slow down Nederland's front 7? Will Nederland be able to contain Gohlke on broken plays? Will PNG be able to run the ball consistent enough to slow down any pass rush? Nederland always seems to have some big play that almost seems like destiny in the games they win. Will that be in the air for them Friday? Unless one team just doesn't show up with anything but their F game, this will be a close one that has both sides stressed.

After watching the state tourney games over the years the 6A and5A teams each have multiple possessions in 35 seconds. lol

I have no doubt that the North Shore defense will slow the King offense down. This game in my opinion is comes down to the King defense making the North Shore offense turn the ball over.

Yes, West Brook won a state championship in its first year of football, which I believe was 1982. I remember that season particularly well because they advanced in the playoffs following a 7–7 tie with Baytown Sterling, winning the tiebreaker based on having more first downs. Then they appeared again in 2018 and lost a close title game to Longview 35-34. We know that feeling all too well (lol). And yes, two years ago, Lufkin appealed the original UIL district realignment because of the excessive travel distances. Angleton also filed an appeal, and both schools were successful in getting their district assignments changed. As for Smoaky, I agree with you (LOL). That said, there are some really good folks over there who know their Texas high school football. Like any sports forum, every site has its share of characters. That's part of what makes these discussions interesting!

West Fork will be a playoff team. Splendora will not. Losing to WF can be considered a quality loss. Losing to Splendora cannot be considered a quality loss. But definitely losing to Liberty is a terrible loss on anyone's resume.

After watching the game late last night, I can honestly say nobody should take your post about point spread seriously. Should have won by 40??? That would be like me saying Silsbee should have won by 12. smh Just a typical Silsbee/WO-S game of the last 10 years. But, I did see a little bit about what a couple of folks here were talking about with the extra activities. I didn't think it was too egregious but something that needs cleaning up. Both teams blew opportunities in this game. The WO-S score right before half was a killer for Silsbee.
