You know what, the game isn’t decided by just one team. The Texans played an excellent game but were outscored. Dallas played one heckuva second half…..converting 3rd downs and a crucial 4th and 4. The defense getting a sack on 3rd and 3 which allowed us to get the ball back. Why didn’t you watch the other game that was on at the same time, since your teams never measure up to your perfect standards?

The Texas law says, “with the intent” to commit the assault, “administers or provides to the victim”. So is merely giving or providing it to her with intent to commit the assault a crime? I would say yes but I don’t have a clue how the DA would approach a situation where she asked for the drug. If the “intent” to commit the assault is giving the drugs, the intent overcomes any question of how she took it. That is to say that the person knew that it would render her incapable of refusing or resisting the sex act. There has been at least one case where the woman volunteered to take ketamine under a doctor’s care but then the doctor was accused of sexually assaulting her. So voluntarily taking the drug doesn’t necessarily negate the crime. That goes back to my original comment about not being able to say no. Even if a girl says, let’s take some drugs and get high, once she is unable to consent or say no, it doesn’t matter if she took the ketamine. She could have just as well voluntarily drank alcohol until she passed out. At that point it is still without consent. A guy can’t believe, she voluntarily got drunk so I can have sex with her. In reference to this case, it wasn’t a single guy but the accusation was several and with comments like free sex upstairs. If that can be proven, I don’t know how a guy can claim that a woman I don’t know consented to sex while she is unconscious or almost so even if she took the drug voluntarily. In this case I doubt that the issue will be whether she knowingly took the ketamine because knocking her out likely ends all other debate. The huge problem will be the time frame of the accusation and the gathering of evidence. Now if an eye witness(es) comes forward…….

La Porte was in district with the Pasadena teams. I’m sure the professional recruiters who recruit for a living appreciate your valuable insights on player evaluations. I’m not sure your wishful thinking is going to change Morgan’s mind. I don’t see PAM opening up much of anything other than a new wrinkle here or there with a play or two. PAM’s staff know exactly who they are. PAM—this year—is a strong running game, good special teams, great defense team. That’s y’all’s identity. Morgan’s not going to change a winning formula for one game—especially this one—because fans want to see more ‘flash.’ The only way I see a major change in the playbook in one week is if PAM falls behind by more than a score. Then, you may have trouble, and have to open up a little more. Anything else would be foolish, and Morgan is no fool.

I would have to give that some thought. But, what I cherish and miss is the after game parties that my parents and some very close friends of theirs from Jasper would host each year after the game. Dubose's and Foley's from Jasper were longtime friends of my parents and when the game was played in Jasper, one of those would host the after game party. My parents would host when it was played in Silsbee. That went on for many many years. Some really good times.
