Orangefield school board has set a bond election for May 2 for improvements to athletic facilities. The improvements will be turf to football, baseball and softball fields as well as expanded seating, additional lighting and additional parking. Also new pressbox at the football stadium. These are much needed upgrades. Hopefully it will pass this time.

Already have people asking me if United wins will they play a third game to break the tie and I highly highly doubt they will.

EC had players at State swim meet in San Antonio Thursday and Friday. So game was moved to today and played early because of Mardi Gras!

I am all in on names, arrests, convictions and prison time. However, reality is, it will be hard to get a true conviction without victims testifying against high powered legal teams. May be hard to get a conviction, much less multiples.

Most likely. I believe Orangefield will want to go undefeated and it's Senior night for them. Other than that, the game means nothing to them as far as seeding goes. I need to find out about 22-3A district tiebreaker system that includes three teams. If Kountze loses and Warren and Kirbyville win, that would create a three way tie. The thing is, Kountze would be 3-1 in the match ups with those two teams, while Warren would be 2-2 and Kirbyville 1-3. Not sure if the district goes by the better record or plays it off. If they were to play it off, I can see Kountze getting the bye and playing the winner of Kirbyville/Warren for the final spot.

Agreed, not to mention Dischler who was similar (great athlete, not a basketball player). I think that’s all this team is really missing this year, which is one of the many reasons I wish Gonzales had played this year.

I agree. I guess my point was more about how it shouldn’t have even been an option in the first place. Even if they get the win through a forfeit the situation was detrimental to their season to some degree

What I keep saying is, there’s a big difference in someone being named, someone even documented as being there, and being able to prove a criminal case without a doubt when it would probably revert to a circumstantial he said/she said against folks who have the ability to hire the best lawyers on the planet—if you could even get them to trial. There’s no way you’re getting the foreign actors here to stand trial. That’s why I keep saying shame and ostracism are probably what we’ll get.

To me it's not about them beating my team (Bama also beat some other teams, one where the player scored 19 points) but it's about rules, policies, procedures. NCAA is so afraid of being sued and so afraid of being the "bad guy" that they have laxed on what used to be cut and dry. Bama used an ineligible player. They took the risk. They should receive the punishment. Pretty clear to me.
