Interestingly enough, I noticed the SOC defense is called "Death Row Defense", and they love it. I wish WOS would get outta their feelings and get back to the Chain Gang. Blue Link sounds like a Marvel character.

Special thanks to SETXsports and Aaron Ward @RonWithTwoAs for providing audio broadcast for WOS this season. Many fans were thankful they were able to listen while at work Friday afternoon. Mustangs finished another historic season in Arlington. Although the results weren't what we wanted, it was as expected. Coach Surratt has been unstoppable. No other team in Region 3/4 was going to do any better. Coach Hickman should be commended for reinstalling the powerful defensive front that has turned the program back in the right direction. Defense wins championships. Well, only when the offense has the ability to score. Silver side of the ball still needs a boost. Cant be one dimensional at state and expect to out athlete the competition. The first drive showed us all we needed to see. After methodically moving down to Carthage 16. 4th and 6 call was a play action rollout with only TE as possible target. Great drive ended in nothing. Gotta put one in the air on that play. Nothing to lose. If they get an interception its same as turnover on downs. With 15 assistants for 42 players it shouldn't be hard to have one on one coaching. Especially since we only have 1 QB and 1 kicker. Obviously we still have some weak links on the staff. "We see everything and forget nothing." And just like the 1st 2 years of the experimental defense. Some of them still havnt shown they can adjust or improve on what has worked. Jefferson is a talented young man that will not be here forever. He has the ability to make almost any play work when his number is called. His record breaking season and career rushing yards is unbelievable. Not taking anything away from his accomplishments. But it's somewhat misleading about the history of our RBs and somewhat telling of our style of offense. (Pro-Style???) #4 carried us through the 4th quarter and won games in the waning minutes of the contest. Years ago we would be able to shut down the starters earlier in the game. Meaning they only played 70-80%. Also having more balanced offense meant the QB and WR had more production. Taking some of the load off our stable of powerful backs. Regardless of the past mistakes and the division that Harris pushed us all into. We have arrived once again. Now to see how the pieces fall into place for next season. Losing some starters and bringing back some keys to success. This is WOS, not the old Win-One-Soon. Now the expectations are to win championships soon. So I know I speak for the rest Mustang Nation when I say... Let's go again next year and win it all. Everyone have a safe and happy holidays. Also this is today... It took me a minute to read the link. My thoughts - Google "Michael Wolfe lies on Trump" - his book is full of lies about the admin, and not just from trump, but several in his administration. One look at Hugh Dougherty's X page =, plus the articles written on The Daily Beast will tell you they are a very left leaning media group. So their claims and opinions I don't hold stock in or read. I'll continue to refer you to the Previous DOJ who had 3 years to bring charges up against Trump and did not. That is a much more powerful conclusion than a couple media hacks trying to make a dime.

Anyone who invests in a company 401k, 503b, or similar is experiencing good growth in their gross wealth. That's around 22% in about a year and a half.

Something changed, Jim Holley was the AD and him and Dougald McDougald had a long history. Plunk the new AD does not have the same history. With that being said Chris McDougald could still get the job, but it’s not the foregone conclusion it was when Jim Holley was calling the shots.

I just don’t understand why anti-Trumpers on the fraud investigations just don’t say, “Good, if there is fraud going on it should be found and fixed, and those responsible go to jail.” I can only go on what I have witnessed, and I remember folks selling foodstamps for 50 cents on the dollar…..they have cards now, and I can think of several ways to turn that balance on the card to cash…. So, I personally think there is fraud in every government handout, and even if it is a small percent, investigating and fixing the problem will reroute that money to someone who actually needs it.

Buna is clearly the third best team. Their only losses in district will be to EC and OF. Those games will be competitive. Could they slip up to a Warren or Hardin? Maybe. But I see them being the solid #3 seed. Kirbyville could be in the mix with those other four teams I mentioned. But I got them a step or two behind. They could upset a couple of those teams only because all 4 of these teams are not THAT good. I am very confident in those first three teams (Buna, EC, OF). But after those teams, it could be a free for all.

That defense for years was known as the "chain gang defense" suddenly one season it offended some one and became known as the "blue link" defense. SMH!

SOC best them 1st game of the season with North Shore having a new QB under center. Not the same Mustang team I would bet.

The UIL has a tendancy to lump all the HISD schools together but your split is impressive from a geographical standpoint

My point is like in 2022,2023 when Bellville knocked them out of the first round of the playoffs anyone not blinded by the “Coaches aren’t calling the right plays/There is a culture issue” could clearly see and evaluate those teams as not being near as talented as teams of the past… but now I see people saying “Anyone could coach and call the plays for this talent level they have for this team and win” people can’t have it both ways… I’m not accusing you of that necessarily but it’s clear that from day one people have wanted this WOS head coach and his staff to not succeed. It’s just kinda mind boggling
