Indians 35 - 21. If I was the United coach, this Friday against PNG I'd be throwing long deep passes, with an occasional scramble out of the pocket intentional or otherwise. I have no data, but just based on my poor memory I think that all of United's scores against PNG for the past 2 or 3 seasons have been either long passes or QB scrambles. Besides that, just look at the PNG - Klein Oak game film. Of course, Coach J. is looking at the same film. I guess that's what makes the games interesting.

Unlike the others on this post just hating on NS because they’ve had so much success & because they have nothing else better to do because football is so bad in SETX…I’m telling you what I KNOW! The well has run dry…NS will lose a few more times this year & will drop a few district games. This is far from a typical NS group there isn’t any talent on this group and none coming up…the last normal NS freshman class graduated last year. I have heard the freshman class is loaded & they have a freshman starting on varsity but I haven’t seen them for myself to confirm.

Not sure if sarcasm is here or not. We lost by 28 to Gunter with what was probably the best team (top to bottom) Woodville ever fielded. We also lost to Anahuac last year. Note: Coach Houston’s 82 was damn good.

Despite the score, I did see some evidence that Clear Lake was well coached. An example: In the first half the they had a high snap to the punter which rolled all the way to their 10 yard line. With Wildcats all around him, the punter intentionally kicked the ball out of the back of the end zone which resulted in a safety but almost certainly prevented a Wildcat TD. I was a little surprised after they got hopelessly behind in the 1st half that they didn't agree to a running clock in the second. I think that the reason is that their coach thought they would learn more using the regular clock. They never seemed to give up. They tried everything including a flea flicker and a sqib kick on the kickoff. If I had to pick an MVP for Angleton, it would be WR Kaleb Jammer, who was the leading receiver in non district last year, but missed the entire district season with an injury. It looks like if he can stay healthy, he will be a big factor for Angleton.

I don't really expect Angleton to run that t-formation with the full house backfield much if at all this year. They were starting to get away from it in the playoffs and with a big time passer in Duron, I think you will mostly see them in the I formation or the gun.
