The 48 yd FG, the fake punt, and the WR pass...they converted all three. If any one of those fails, WOS wins. On the fake punt, they shifted two WRs to the strong side, we moved over to cover, and they threw to the other side where the player was uncovered. On the WR pass, the receiver was covered well, but made a good catch in traffic. They made the plays they HAD to make. All of them. The 48 yarder was the biggest play of the game. I don't know if any team has ever scored 18 points on WOS in the 4th Q. Congratulations Silsbee.

I didn't understand some of the offensive playcalling man. Sad thing is on 4th and inches late the kids were begging to go for it and they punted. Unbelievable.

They have a good shot. They just scored 35 points against the best defense in the state. The place where the Tigers had the edge was in the kicking game and that proved to be decisive. Our place kicker scored 10 points and sent most kickoffs into the endzone. Other than that it was a toss up. Clearly it was the breaks and the big plays that decided that game. As Yankees pitcher Lefty Gomez said back in the 30's, "I'd rather be lucky than good." Anyway, It's been a great two years. Even if both games had gone the other way it still would have been great. But now Carthage has moved down into Div II and all bets are off. We could both be in for a dry spell. Our last debacle against them still hurts. It was like Pearl Harbor. We had no warning.

Well, that loss last night still stings pretty dang bad. It does make it better knowing we didn’t lose to an inferior team. Awesome season young Mustangs, keep your heads up! Lots of young talent on that team!! Congrats to Silsbee, y’all pulled it off again. Now I’m going to jump on the Tiger bandwagon if you Silsbee faithful will let me, lol, and follow y’all all the way to Dallas!

That long and skinny kids name is Tyler Jackson and he’s the best post player on the team. He is currently killing Sharpstown. Ned up 51 to 31 with 6 mins left in the 4th.

I will never lump an entire fan base off what a handful of fans say or do. I have extreme respect for WO-S football and all that surrounds it. Also have great respect for some of their fans here on this site. WOSGrad, griff, Gasilla, GUNHO, WO-S 89. Mad respect. But there are a few (and everybody has them, including Silsbee) that made comments in the "smack" thread (for a lack of better words) that showed zero respect for Silsbee football. You know who you are. Comments like "game will be over by halftime", "Silsbee will not score more than 14", "Tigers aren't tough enough". Score predictions like "42-14", "28-7", etc. etc. For those few I say this: HOW BOUT DEM TIGERS!!!!!!!!! 3-0 BABY!!!!!!

I was at the game. I am just telling you what I saw. Not taking away anything away from the Kids but if you ask the Silsbee Head Coach if he would love to be in the situation they were in last night and being forced to capitalize on the plays that got them back into the game I am pretty sure he would say no. I could care less what you predicted. I saw 2 evenly matched teams playing last night and one team that was fortunate to pull that game out. If you couldn’t see that your fooling yourself. Happy for The Silsbee kids being able to pull it out.

Nederland's team as a whole will be much better in the long run for playing without Hefner for a bit. And they'll need to be because PA is a monster and Barbers Hill seems much better than anticipated. I think the long, skinny post has really improved.

It's simple to explain, destiny took a hand? The next two weeks will confirm that one way or another. One thing I know for sure, it was the zaniest 4th quarter I've ever seen. Even though the deficit was never more than 11 the comeback seemed bigger, almost epic. A season full of unlikely plays in one quarter.

Actually, Mike and I just got off the phone about that and he told me that he and Gary had discussed that very issue before tonight's game. And the conclusion is this: Gary and John's broadcast is first and foremost a WO-S broadcast and it is tailored toward Mustang fans and the sponsors of the KOGT broadcast. By the same token, Mike and Tim's broadcast is first and foremost a Silsbee broadcast and it is tailored toward Tiger fans and the sponsors of the SETXsports broadcast. Both have been used by Texan Live and will be for the foreseeable the future but know that neither will change the tenor of their broadcast simply because it is being used as audio for a Texan Live game.

I remember watching wos play Cuero a few years back in the semifinals I believe. 4th and 1, coach T goes for it and JD throws a 40 yard bomb for a td.. where was those guts at tonight?

Tyler made noticeable upgrades in his game over the summer. Kid is playing great right now...averaging 30 a game in the Classic shooting 70% and challenging other teams shots around the bucket

I agree. WOS was beat by a team that made the plays when it counted. The backhanded complements by some Mustang fans toward Silsbee is laughable.

Bush is averaging 42.7 points a game. Right now, Silsbee needs every single point. IMO, I think it's tougher on Bush right now due to the fact he is really the only scoring option that Silsbee has and teams are trying to defend that. I honestly do not think in this particular situation that players like Hefner, Harrison and Loftin do not score nearly as much as what Bush is doing if they were in Bush's shoes.

It was WO-S's defense. If the locking is right, that play is a thing of beauty... I have no problem with it. I wish United would go to that type of offense...

No in the past, wos has owned the 4 th quarter against us. Be it conditioning, pressure whatever the case is. But tonight the Tigers willed themselves back into the game and got the momentum and rode it thru to the end. All joking aside it was a hell of a game. I am glad it was played right here in SETX. Great game great atmosphere. Tigers made the big plays when we were down 28-17, it was at the point where in the past we would get down on ourselves and let it get away but not these guys they stood up and nade things happen. I couldnt be more proud of them.

Nah it was pretty even IMO. Refs actually did a good job tonight, they could've called alot more unsportsmanlike conduct penalties amongst other penalties on both squads, they let them kids play tonight.

They eliminated NS in the 2016 playoff at NRG and defeated NS the following season and won the district title.. So AHS has won the past two battles against NS..
