They did not opt for Foreman, but remember the one who got that job was Thompson. Toby told me before he landed the Central job that he definitely coveted the WO-S job. He had not mentioned if either getting the Central, or ultimately the Shoemaker job changed that.

They had a chance to go with Foreman when Hooks retired, but didn't. I don't think he would go there due to that, especially now since he has experience coaching at higher levels. 5a at Central and now, Shoemaker at 6a...

I wouldn't be surprised if his name is on the applicant list WHENEVER the United job comes open again...

Winning a series vs. the Astros is going to be incredibly tough. The depth of their lineup is crazy mixed in with the speed of Straw and Marisnick off the bench and the defensive prowess of them and a utilityman like Diaz. Having Verlander, Cole, Greinke, and Miley in a series is ridiculous, plus the back end of the bullpen has mostly been lights out. Great time to be an Astros fan, teams like this don't come around often!

Yeah he's already 6`4 and 200 + pounds as a freshman. Would like to see him shoot up to at least 6`6. Got plenty of time to grow. Can't wait for him to terrorize district for the next few years. Jayce is his name, I think. Something like that anyways. Him and Thomas alone are two 6`4 players Silsbee will have. Should have a few more guys in the 6`0 - 6`2 range. Don't know where people get Silsbee won't have any size next year from.

Bost will not miss a step this season. In my opinion he is a better skilled QB than Shug. He will play QB at a D1 major school is my prediction as a QB. With that being said we will outscore everyone in this district, so defense doesn't have to be that good. The last season's run, plus the fact that Jasper Head Coach Darrell Barbay welcomes back nine starters on each side of the ball, leaves folks in Jasper thinking that it is time for another championship run. Head Coach: Darrell Barbay Assistant Coaches: Bryan Barbay (Offensive Coordinator), Trey Allen (Defensive Coordinator), Randall Reich (Backs/Quarterbacks), Randy Birdwell (Receivers), Travis Tates (Defensive Line), Stephen Westbrook (Inside Linebackers), Aaron Wueller (Outside Linebackers), Malcolm Bronson (Secondary) Offense: Nine starters return to the Jasper offense in 2019. Junior quarterback Trashawn Adams will take control of the Bulldog offense.
