Who will make past the 3rd round in the PlayoffsBBfan061 replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Football My only thing is Hardin doesn’t really run the Slot T though… it’s more based on toss plays (based on the couple games I’ve watched) The Slot T has more fakes and miss direction IMO. But I agree I’m happy for them and they should enjoy the ride. I’ll always pull for the similar run based offense that Bellville runs and I hope they win it all… I’ve just watched Bellville play Columbus and Hitchcock this year and defensively vs the run based offense they are tough. Best of luck to the Hornets the rest of the way!

Would be curious to see if the computers would win if someone exclusively picked based on them next year

huffman has some real weapons so lc-m needs to make a minimum amount of mistakes.

PNG is a true sleeper in District 19-5A, led by senior Langston Adams alongside standout 2027 talents 6'7 Jonathan Cayetano and Daylan Jackson. This team has the pieces to quietly sneak into the playoffs.

I think most who pay attention can go statewide picking winners at a 65-70% clip depending on the year...I run at around 70% on the small sample that I pick...but I'm also picking the marquee games with typically smaller margins...the computer running at +80% for 5 yrs is pretty salty....I think that'd be hard to find a person doing that for that long that consistently

No PNG anywhere? I think they have a great year.

All-District picks are just another way to compete. It's all well and good to think coaches should vote objectively, but I think most coaches are more concerned with taking care of their own guys...as they should be. The TABC predictions are also skewed as there are all kinds of different agendas, coaches not submitting votes, etc. Only thing that matters is results on the floor.

[Hidden Content] Game of the Week (4) Angleton (8-0, 5-0) at (8) La Porte (7-1, 5-0) 7 p.m. Friday at Bulldog Stadium What to know: La Porte and Angleton have been on a collision course all season, and now their highly anticipated matchup has finally arrived. This game decided the District 11-5A Division I title a year ago as La Porte emerged with a 35-28 road victory. Identical stakes are on the line this time around, and whichever side wins will clinch at least a share of the league crown. Angleton is aiming to win its first district title since 2022. With a victory over La Porte this week and Crosby in their finale, the Wildcats can secure the sixth undefeated regular season in program history and the first since 2017. Senior quarterback Bryce Duron has been playing at a high level all year, despite exiting games early due to the Wildcats blowing opponents out. He's completed 74.2% of his passes for 1,367 yards and 18 touchdowns without an interception. La Porte, meanwhile, had a close call against Crosby last week on the road, winning 28-21. Sophomore Sean Simon (173 yards) and senior Ashton Ruffin (137) combined to rush for 310 yards in the victory. Simon has been the catalyst, rushing for 1,804 and 22 touchdowns and averaging 8.8 yards per attempt. While La Porte got the best of Angleton in the 2024 regular season behind 351 yards from Simon, it was the Wildcats who prevailed later down the road in the Region III final while holding the Bulldogs to just 2.8 yards per carry. Poorman's prediction: Angleton 28, La Porte 24
