  2. Whats the take on the next opponent, HJ ? Does EC have the upper hand here, or will it be a 50/50 game? It would appear to me that there's a definite size advantage on both sides of the line for the Hawks, but the Bucs will have some advantages in other positions from what I am hearing. Should be a good contest.
  3. I guess Liberty Hill doesn't measure up this year; they seem to always hold a top ten spot throughout the season.
  4. AAW, Did OF slide into the Top25, in 3AD1? I noticed they didn't move Woodville down very far. By their standards, it would be a quality win for OF, but I feel like we all knew OF was the heavy favorite. I was just curious if OF bumped up or not in the rankings.
  5. I don't know much about Santa Fe. Give me Vidor by a couple. As far as the number of passes Vidor will throw, I'll say it's a low-ish number. Not going to put too much on film before district starts.
  6. Silsbee 42-7
  7. IMO, Katy is that team that will lure teams into thinking they got the W and then al the wheels come off the bus and now you lost. Dickinson looks like they kept the foot on the gas/neck.
  8. any movement for PAM?
  9. Yeah that's fine. Having seen only 3 of SOC's games I'm only speaking anecdotally, without any data, but based on my observations, when SOC gets a personal or USLC foul, the refs get yelled at by the coach, not the kid(s). And the team wears gloves that are the same color as the opposing team's jersey, (for whatever reason). So, my take wrt the coach's reported quote is that It basically means let SOC's kids hold, and don't call personal or USLC fouls. Anyway, my thought was that it's pretty tough to beat SOC at home with "their" refs, regardless whether NS is in an off year or not. My other thought is that NS took SOC too lightly, since (if I recall correctly) they beat them pretty handily last season.
  10. Today
  11. it's WOS they are all ways well coached and just seem to win, the Dogs have some work too do, but coach Rich will get them playing better, WOS 28-13
  12. Anahuac losing their QB is a game changer. If you can’f beat Anahuac then you are iin bad shape. Anahuac is weak this year.
  13. The rb1 had a leg injury didnt finish game. Ice on his leg knee or calf couldn't tell
  14. I love this, count me in. I follow this district pretty close every season. Hope I can provide some good insight for conversation here.
  15. Week Two: Lumberton @ Beaumont West Brook (West Brook too much, Lumberton had trouble scoring against Nederland. I think WB has a better defense than Nederland does. More athletes for WB on both sides of the ball) Vidor @ Santa Fe (not sure, don't know anything about SF, curious to see how many passes Vidor threw last week against Silsbee) Livingston @ Needville (Needville has athletes, Livingston coming off surprising Week 1 win. Give me Needville by 14) HJ @ East Chambers (EC running game too strong for HJ. Saw EC has a good trio of running backs this year, EC leans on HJ and pulls ahead late in the 4th qtr due to HJ having depth issues in their front 7 on defense) Bridge City vs Kirbyville (BC just too much for Kirbyville. BC by 30) LCM @ Silsbee (Silsbee too much for LCM. Conditioning looking to be an issue with the Bears with 4 to 6 players playing both ways. LCM-backup QB, 8 sophomores getting meaningful playing time, bad recipe to be playing Silsbee. Give me Silsbee by 35) Liberty vs Splendora- (give me Liberty by 14 points. Splendora not as good as their week 1 result suggests) Huffman vs Houston Furr (Huffman bounces back after loss to La Marque, Huffman by 7)
  16. What injuries do they have besides senior QB still out? I'm thinking this game will be in the 42-14 range. Silsbee rolls in this one
  17. You got that right! I don't blame him either!
  18. Belichick has his mind on his gf and I don't blame him. Total smoke show! lol
  19. I see you found the time you said you didn't have! Well, I'm glad you did. It's not hard to understand. It's only hard for some if they think in terms of all or nothing. I think Belichick may have fallen into the situation other championship coaches fall into. Plus he may not be suited for this league. Just like Saban, Holtz, Meyers, Spurrier couldn't make it in a different league. Just like Dodge couldn't make it in college. Let's get back to my first point. When coaches get older and have achieved what they fought for in their younger years, their drive, motivation and intensity later on is not there. Example: Landry, Lombardi and Joe Gibbs. I would possibly put Shula and Walsh (college) in that category. As a matter of fact, I heard Gibbs actually say the same thing I'm saying. He said his second time around with the Redskins his work ethic was not the same. Consequently, didn't achieve what was achieved before. Again, drive, motivation and intensity was not there. As for Belichick, we saw where his mind was in the off season: Something around the number 24! But heck, it's only one game. Plus, we are seeing what has happened to Alabama with a different coach. I guess you could say that since Saban left, the well has ran dry at Alabama. But honestly -- do you believe that?!
  20. He didn't have many passing yards. The receivers dropped three 35+ yards passes that was very accurate. 2 of them would have been touchdowns!
  21. There's some talent on the defensive side for the Dogs...I think its going to take some time for this offense to come together. I don't see a blowout but I also don't see Nederland scoring much
  22. Orangefield, 47-7
