  1. Past hour
  2. Steele has 4 FBS commits in the secondary but their front seven very small....offense has some pieces...two good RB's, good QB and a couple of good WR's...OL has one 2028 kid who is big time but rest of the OL is average......solid team that after the first three drives kinda settled in and went blow for blow...but the first quarter and a half was a disaster
  3. Martinez is still on JV he's one of the RBs that should be brought up to varsity
  4. Had surgery this morning! Heard it went well! So that’s good news!
  5. Okay, I missed the game Friday so I wanted watch it online before I made any comments. And I just finished. Sad. I feel sorry for the kids that are playing under Rich and his coaching staff. Scott Rich was a quarterback in high school, college and the quarterback coach at Katy, and he doesn't know how to coach up quarterbacks? That should tell everyone reading this what type of coach he is. Lane was the best chance the Dogs had, and now he's down. He will be sorely missed. Sorry Spidesal defense is part of the problem. Coach Wright and Coach Rich evaluating talent. You have big boys on the DL that only have a bull-rush move, and stand straight up when doing so, giving away leverage. If they are that big, and not dominating the tackle and guard in front of them, they are needed on the offensive side of the ball, IMMEDIATELY. The linebackers have never changed. Same group from last year, they are slow and take bad angles. Out of the four of them, I would say Howard really runs to the ball and wants to make contact when he gets there. I would also venture to say the DB's have more tackles than the linebacker crew individually. And for the third level to be leading in tackles is another sign of a weak LB/DL. The DB's have been making big tackles and big interceptions. They saved some big plays from turning into touchdowns. Again they're small so Wright will need to get them some help over the top when he can. Especially against passing teams like PNG & Dayton. They need Ned back at safety. The offense, what can I say - it is Scott Rich getting what he deserves. I just hate that these young men who have worked so hard and believed in him, now have to deal with his karma. Coach Rich is supposed to be the offensive mind, and you see what that got. Gestring should be RB1 with Ned at safety. Bring a couple of them DL over to OL and a few of them LB's over to TE. With a few of the second stringers on the defense they won't lose much intensity. They already give up 25 points a game. They also need more two TE formations, and short play action passes the QB can connect. But for play action to work you have to establish the run......... I know Martinez was solid as a RB last year on JV, I would even try Clay back there just to get the ball in his hands. Probably have to be RB by committee, because they are taking some licks in the backfield soon as they get the handoff. The WR's can catch, they just need someone that can get them the ball. We might as well look forward to the powerlifting season, because that's what they've been training these kids for.........not football. Can I talk about the "parental politics" and corner cutting BigDog? I wanted to stay within the guidelines.
  6. Lumberton by 2 scores.
  7. Today
  8. let’s stop talking about an individual player. We’re lucky he’s on our team. The kids come on this site.

  12. Michigan storming the field because they beat western Michigan is a terrible look lol
  13. Had a lot of fun at the ULL vs Lamar game… wish Lamar could get back to the Sun Belt… friendly people, great tailgating, best tailgate food had in a long time. Hope Lamar can continue playing them more often..
  14. I wonder who will become QB1 now for Big Ned… Does Rich call the plays or does the OC? Something needs to change in a hurry…
  15. Alvin Mosley’s a problem. He’s a grown man among boys. PNG’s secondary is going to have to show who they really are this week. Crawford’s defense is really fast. Not very large. We’ll move the ball on them but we have to be smart. If we try to play home run derby against these guys we miss out on our advantages running the ball and our size in the trenches (we aren’t huge but we aren’t tiny either). We have to pound the rock to negate their speed in the secondary, improve tackling and secondary coverage, and maintain long drives that keep the ball out of Mosley’s hands. This is a very winnable game. We’re better than the other two teams Crawford has played this year. Our physicality on defense is going to be a new problem for them, and we have the best offense they’ve seen this season. We’ve prepared for this game. Crawford is fast, but so is PAM and PAM has way more size. So, we just need to fall back on the PNG staples: ball control, first downs, and defense.
  16. Toss up at this point, leaning toward Jasper
  17. Hate to hear that. Hope the kid makes a full recovery
  18. with Neds 5a Roster size, the fact Tigers are missing Def starters , and this team is still trying to find its rythem on offense, I'm going with Ned by two T D' s. JMO But, I could be wrong
  19. I didn't know he moved from PA, or else had forgotten; but I remember folks talking about him last season as playing mainly basketball. In any case he doesn't lack athletic ability. IMO it's been just a focus issue. (BTW, I presume we're talking about #10.)
  20. Defense was not the problem vs WOS. The DL played pretty good, the LB ‘ers played hard, they are just slow, and the secondary is the same as the past several seasons, extremely poor They must have the worst secondary coaches in southeast Texas The offense is the major problem. The QB threw well from 1-5 yards, but couldn’t throw longer than that. They have not had a good QB in a long time. The last 2 were good athletes, just simply not QB’s. They could have been good receivers or running backs. The receivers look a little better this year. I couldn’t tell if the RB’s are any good because the OL is absolutely horrible. I am not sure they blocked anyone the entire game vs WOS IMO they will be 3-7 if the OL doesn’t improve quickly
  21. From a long time Mustang perspective. This Nederland team is nowhere close to what I'm used to seeing from the Dogs. Mental errors, poor execution, turnovers, penalties, overall sloppy play? These are NOT characteristics of the Neumann era Dogs. You could always bet they were going to be sound. They weren't gonna beat themselves, turn the ball over, have stupid penalties. You knew they would be disciplined and prepared and you'd have to be the same to get a win. Not that way now from what I see.
  22. Praying for quick recovery and complete healing.
  23. That WR is done for season, defense is solid but running game for WOS will be too much. BC offense will bore you to sleep. If the special teams decides to show up this week who knows. WOS 42 BC 14 (maybe)
